New Shoes From Shimano & Apparel From Dakine - Interbike 2018
Where I primarily ride sticks and twigs get caught in any kind of ratchet system and jam them so it's hard to get the shoes off after riding. I really like my Shimano AM 45 which are laced with a Velcro attached cover. A bonus is that the laces don't get covered with poison oak tannins (which I also ride through). They offer great protection but are a tad bid wide which hinders rotation/release from clipless pedals, and they are HEAVY. I would love more covered lace options. There aren't too many out there.

Steve Peat & Josh Bender Inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame
@michibretz: Why did you even move to Fairfax? You diss the museum, local trails and in general have a very non-Fairax vibe about you. Marin isn’t perfect but the museum is legit and the people involved are passionate about cycling history.

Review: Fox Live Valve Suspension
@mpcremata: Spot on! I have been riding since the mid 80's. Though I have never been an early adopter of tech, (I'm still on a 26" Devinci) I appreciate all the advances that let me ride better, faster and in more comfort despite my age. I just hope the hub/axle standards settle out though before I buy my next frame.

I used to hit that rock garden waterfall on a full rigid, now I pucker up on a 6" full sus. My shit is getting old. Hats off to all the SBTS crew who make Downieville and surrounding areas the Happiest Place on Dirt!!!

Cannondale Introduces the New Jekyll 29
I know it's a petty complaint, but I just can't stand down tubes that run parallel to the ground in front of the bottom bracket.

Helmets, Protection, & Clothing From POC - Eurobike 2018
Yeah, I shattered my iliac crest (and a bunch of ribs) skiing. I was lucky. Docs said if I had hit the front or back of my body with the same force I would have been in much worse place, as in paralyzed or dead. The docs also said that some hip padding wouldn't of made much of a difference. I was flying headfirst into a granite wall and the only thing going through my mind at the time was, "Do not hit your head! Your neck will shatter!"
