Helmets, Protection, & Clothing From POC - Eurobike 2018
Yeah, I shattered my iliac crest (and a bunch of ribs) skiing. I was lucky. Docs said if I had hit the front or back of my body with the same force I would have been in much worse place, as in paralyzed or dead. The docs also said that some hip padding wouldn't of made much of a difference. I was flying headfirst into a granite wall and the only thing going through my mind at the time was, "Do not hit your head! Your neck will shatter!"

Must Watch: Brandon Semenuk - Raw 100 V4
Thanks Brandon! After watching this I went out and rode about 3 percent faster. So now I'm only about 297 percent slower than you.

Mountain Biking's Troubled Roots & the Hope in Marin County
@lusenator- You pretty much nailed it. The "where and when" factor is important. There are some trails that I only ride under the cover of fog. Fabulous trails if you're ok with occasionally getting yelled at. Ride here long enough and you get the added bonus of developing thick skin.

Pinkbike Poll: What Supplies Do You Bring With You on a Ride?
Coming from an era where one out of three bikes would have a serious mechanical every ride, I tend to be over prepared toolwise. I also like to be comfortable at all times and prepared to spend a few hours or at worst, a night out on the trail. A space blanket, warm hat, lighter, headlamp, first aid kit, and some snacks can make a huge difference.
