What's your name, how old are you, where you from?

My Name is George Gannicott, I'm 21 years old and live in Selkirk, Scotland.

What's the day job when you're not riding bikes?

Over the winter I've been working in Next, not that I know a thing about fashion! Just recently I left Next because the season has been picking up a bit and I was having to take too much time off. My parent's good friend runs a fish farm local to me so I'm grafting there over the so far snowy Scottish summer!

What's the bike setup this year?

This year the whole team are running Nicolai's and Chris Porter's devil child the GeoMetron DH. I've never once felt on the limit of the bike and it just keeps giving the more I get used it, the potential for this bike is unbelievable I've not ridden anything like it. We've been riding the rear travel at 180mm and I've not yet felt the need to go up to 200mm yet but we've just got some longer shocks to test out over the next few weeks before Fort William World Cup. Also new to me this year is Schwalbe's Procore system. I'm really impressed with it, you can run the low pressure for grip but because of the inner core you don't get the nasty flex and tyre roll like you do with tubeless!

First year on the team, how you finding it?

I'm loving being part of One Vision Global Racing. We all get on really well which is a big part of being a team especially when you travel all over the world, planes and airports can get very boring with the wrong people!

What do you hope to achieve this year?

Like every year, I aim to beat my best World Cup result the previous season which in this case was 36th in Windham, America. I've had to miss the second World Cup in Cairns unfortunately so I'll have to see what happens in terms of overall but I'm taking it one race at a time like I always do. I can imagine most of the Brits will agree with me in saying they want to smash it at Fort William World Cup in front of the home crowd, so I'll be gunning it there for sure!

What are your local riding spots?

I'm only half an hour from Innerleithen but don't ride there nearly as much as you would think, I love riding my natural tracks just a 5 minute ride from house. Only problem with that is pushing up!

George Gannicott

What was your favourite moment from last season?

Its hard to tell, I had some great moments last year on my Euro trip with young Corey Watson but I'm a racer and not much comes close to doing well at races, so I'd have to say coming 36th in Windham!

How did you get into downhill?

I owe a lot to my brother Arran for that! He started racing in 2005 and I went to all the races with him and started racing myself in 2009 back in the glory days!

George Gannicott

Good result at Lourdes, were you happy how could you improve?

Yeah it was a result let's just say that! I'm glad to get the season going, the first round is always a strange one for me but there is a whole season ahead of us and I'm dying to get racing again!!

Cheers George

Cheers fella, have a good'n.

Check out the team's recent trip to Portugal.

Big up to one vision! Just keep it real and do what you need to do, for a small outfit in comparison to the factory teams i like the fact that you got the minerals through out the team to be a wicked force to be reckoned with. Im 110% behind you boys. Respect.
