Surely this will only hurt them. If they announced this 6 months before the race I feel like people would buy it, give it a go, and maybe some elites would have success.
But announcing it right before the race means anyone using it will be unprepared and probably have a worse result than they would otherwise. Which will mark the product as a dud.

The course was a bit uninspiring. Clearly that first jump was poorly built. They shouldn't have to be pedaling in just to clear it. There's a reason MOST slopestyle courses start with a drop. It provides consistent speed every time.

As an Aussie I am stoked Dane got 2nd! His score was higher than I expected, I was thinking high 80's.
But I feel that he probably should have been top 5.
I am not sure I agree Nicholi got COMPLETELY robbed. His run was full of bangers but not flawless. It looked like he dabbed on the hip and his landing on the final drop was sloppy. I think if his run was clean it would have easy been in contention for win or second, but it wasn't flawless. If I was a judge I probably would have put him in high 80's.
