  • 81
Why so much work? Just ask and they will show it to you...
  • 371
 that way costs too much.
  • 31
you should see the markup on them, then you wouldnt be saying that
  • 30
@awais i think you're missing the point being made here.........
  • 382
Seriously ? 2 weeks after i buy an HD hero, not cool GoPro....
  • 141
sorry to hear that man...but what are they supposed to do? Not release new product?
  • 61
Return it get your money back and buy a new one
  • 23
not sure what i can do, my mum bought it for me in canada just over 2 weeks ago, i doubt they will agree to refund me unless i go to the same store, which i can't. anyway i love my camera, and this one doesn't really have a huge amount over it, i hope.
  • 10
sorry man, it has a better lens and better photos
  • 41
fuck it mate, you have a hd go pro... i wouldnt be complaining, if you want the new one so much at least wait a while, get your use out of yours and get one of these once the price goes down a bit.
  • 10
On youtube videos GoPro have just been saying contact customer support. Try it, I've nothing but good things about them.
  • 20
 "2 weeks after I buy"...

"my mum bought it for me"...

cant complain over gifts. be happy
  • 20
i am really happy with what i have, but that doesn't stop it from being frustrating.
  • 10
well gopro has a unsatisfactory return policy before 30 after purchase, i to live in canada and just go to the store and ask for a full refund just put it back in the original package and use that 300 for the hd hero 2 Wink good luck man!
  • 10
the problem is i don't live in canada so can't just return it to the shop. It is frustrating, but i still have a great camera so not the end of the world, just wish i had know they were bringing out a new one a few weeks ago.

120 FRAMES PER SECOND! can you say slow motion?
  • 61
Only at 480 though. But still cool.
  • 20
Ohh, well that puts a damper on it. It's still sick but i thought it was at least at 720p.
  • 11
120FPS is adequate for some basic high speed footage if the riders not haulin' like a raped ape.

For anything higher and still affordable look up the casio FH-100 or the newer (but still the same) ZR-100 - decent high speed footage under $300!
  • 40
Yes 120 works fairly well for good slo-mo but I think many of us would like it to be at 720 at least, if not 1080 instead of SD 480. 480 is fine for web edits which is what a lot of people will use it for and I can understand GoPro going with a processor that can only handle that (keeping costs reasonable). But it still would've been freakin' cool to get full HD 1080 at 120fps.
As for the Casio ZR-100 it only does 1080 at standard 30fps. Faster than that and it drops to 320 and goes as low as 224x64 to get the advertised 1000fps. So for any semi-serious work the GoPro2 definitely has it beat.
  • 31
that was so much to read i almost exploded
  • 40
 Yeah, readin's hard 'n stuff.
  • 50
SO pumped for this thing. I am impressed that they released this for the same price despite a way higher photo resolution, image option, etc. When I buy a new camera I WAS looking at Contour just because it fit my helmet better than my GoPro, but now they are definitely off my radar. Microphone in!?!? sick
  • 72
Helmet mount is cool and all, but the view from the Chestie is way better.. shows what's happening with the bike and the trail so much better.. can't do that with a contour.. Well, not without a complicated work-around and a whole lot of shaking while in use. GoPro FTW!!

Buy/Sell sections gonna be packed with everyones old GoPros now.....
  • 40
Hola - thanks for comments, we'll keep you posted over the next couple months on the Wi-Fi BacPac, the Remote and the smart applications…. all fun stuff to come. And yes - this can be a solution for wireless streaming for DH - WHOA!!!
  • 20
would be handy if the WiFi backpack could use a cable, so it could be stashed someplace... thus keeping the weight of the camera down.. even if it's stashed on the other side of the helmet, so it's more balanced.. just an idea.. Love my HD!!
  • 50
Wow if they use this for live streaming at redbull rampage i will be so stoked
  • 50
First off it sounds like a decent price which I like, I'm glad they didn't rape us on the "new" version just because its new. Second, it has wifi capabilities??? Soo if I have a mobile hotspot can I connect directly to the internet while riding and stream my ride live??? If so that would be pretty sick.
  • 10
It'll be interesting to see how the Wifi Bacpac works (and how much it costs). Looks like it is slated to be released "winter 2012".
  • 10
or if you have an Android phone, you can use this as a mobile router. So you could connect the GoPro to the phone via WiFi, then connect the phone to the internet via mobile internet. i don't know what other phones do this, just speaking from experience having used my android as a mobile router for my laptop sometimes.
  • 10
Yeah, but for video streaming the 3G wont be useful, mainly with a 1080p res...
BUT if you got a good 4G coverage, and an extra battery pack (Androids battery sucks lol ), it can be quite useful!
  • 10
My htc battery is quite good. Turn off all the function on only leave 4g (or 3g at lower quality) and you are fine.
  • 10
pretty much all smart phones can do internet tethering which is what melonhead is on about. IMO this isn't much of a development though
  • 20
wander if this will be the answer to everyone saying " we want live headcam runs on freecasters DH1 " ?? pretty nift bit of kit i think ! and a good price too ! wander if the other manufacturers Drift/Contour etc will follow suit !
  • 30
oh heck yes!!!!!!!!! that would be soo sick
  • 30
WHAT!!!!!!!! i just have bought a nice 960p HD camera for $279
and now i don't know what to do... i'll kill the guy who sold me the god danm camera...
seeya
  • 40
F$%K YOU GO PRO! No news that this was coming and I just bought the old one.
  • 10
Yeah i just brought mine last Friday for £300 and I'm seriously pissed
  • 10
Good things come to those who wait! After my fail using a 5mp GoPro for scuba diving (Nemo was an orange blob) and for hydro-boarding (Water on lens made the video a little blurred!) I was all set for buying a GoPro HD based on how my mates worked in those conditions, that was two months ago, I never got round to it.......might be time now though!
  • 41
I wonder if gopro will ever make one that isn't terribly ugly and have a "low profile" model.
  • 10
They already are pretty low profile... i mean, its a freakin HD camera! Contour's is much bulkier IMO... mostly because you can't use a chest mount very well. Of course they could always go thinner... but its still pretty damn impressive!
  • 30
Makes me kick myself for paying 400 for the old one just 4 months ago.
  • 30
super slow mo makes everything better!!
  • 10
Check out the demo video too, its sick!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUEZCxBcM78
  • 10
Now I just have to decide if I should pick one up, or go for one of the used GoPro HD's everybody is unloading on craigslist for cheap. Hmm..
  • 20
And im still rocking the original hero! yeah!! I think its time for an upgrade.
  • 10
Awesome...speed tvs gonna have onboard cameras for super x!!!!!! Yeah buddy
  • 20
GoPro is taking HD action vid camera's to a new level
  • 20
hmmmm i have a hunch my old one will soon be replaced
  • 10
YOU SONS OF BITCHES, I wish this would have come out like a week ago BEFORE i bought my GoPro....
  • 10
Despite how awesome this one is, the original hd hero is now at a pretty good price for its feature set.
  • 10
Damn this is kind of a bummer. Bought mine last July... Maybe I will find just the camera.
  • 20
PB, you did not do the V2 justice
  • 10
This is AMAZING!!! Cannot wait till I buy one!!
  • 10
i know what im gettig for christmas.....
  • 10
yah! go GoPro! totally am buying one tup
  • 10
yea the video res is the same
  • 10
Video resolution is actually the only thing that doesn't need a change. You won't notice a res differance going over 1080p, even on a big tv.
  • 11
still no real way to tell where it's pointed. still over priced, still not worth it.
  • 10
 ordering asap
  • 11
30 frams and 60 is aloght thats all u need
