Welcome to Les Deux Alpes! Simon traveled from the UK in the Giant van with mechanic Paul Miles and saw some incredible scenery along the way.
Les 2 Alpes has the largest skiable glacier in Europe and is the second oldest ski resort in France. Glaciers are everywhere...
Paul Miles hard at work in the Giant pits.
Dirt jumper Szymon Godziek has a new toy...
The iXS Slopestyle takes place on Saturday July 14th, and judging by the course it's going to be an exciting event.
Teva is sponsoring the Best Trick Contest on Friday July 13th, and they have a large presence at the event.
There are a few different races at Les 2 Alpes this week, Team GT Atherton getting everything ready...
@larry your dumb there wasn't that many tricks because the course was in bad shape from the rain, it was only qualies, and the wind was so strong that it was damn near unridable
There is some stunning riding there! Was a mistake taking a hardtail but I still got some good air and managed to over take some guys on their dh rigs! Biking on a glacier is simply amazing!
probably meant, can also be bikers. There's a lot of crossover i'm sure since the heart of each sport's season aren't the same. I snowboard (and ski) and also mountain bike. MTB was my way of getting that outdoor adrenalin rush outside of snowboard season.
my question is where are they snowboarding? I dont' see many places in the pics where they could be riding.
Jojotherider1977 - les deux alpes has a glacier at the top of the mountain which you are able to ski/snowboard all year round on, and also start some of the DH trails on if you feel like it.
Yeah, you usually get into both especially if you live in the mountains. Although this past winter I rode my bike way more than skied or boarded cause the snow was so shite.
> Honey, start packing, we're moving to the alps.
if not i think thats awesome. we as a sport have a permanent name for an obstacle called the boner-log.
