YT Capra AL

$2500 USD
Selling my 2018 YT Capra Al. Started out life as a base model but now has some upgrades. Travel is increased to 170mm front and rear (rear shocks are both 230x65). I ran the dpx2 for a month before going with the coil. I kept the DPX2 for days where i planned to do a lot of climbing. The other upgrade I did earlier this year was install the Wolftooth -1° angle adjust headset. It really modernized the geo of the bike. In high mode, it has a 64.5° head tube angle and a 76.2° seat tube angle. Makes it perfect for climbing and descending. I never ran the angleset with the low mode because i was too worried about pedal strikes. This bike is a ripper. 2018 YT Capra AL Size Large Rockshox Lyrik 170mm Rockshox Super Deluxe Coil with 450lb and 400lb springs 170mm rear travel Fox Dpx2 with rebound adjust and lockout Wolftooth -1° angle adjust headset SRAM Eagle GX shifter/derailleur/cassette RaceFace cranks with 28t steel ring (also have a 32t ring that came with the bike) Code R (both brakes recently bled with zero rides) Roval Wheels with Dhf 2.5/ dhr ii 2.4 Raceface bars cut to 770mm Odi Rogue grips E*Thirteen Vario seatpost (adjustable from 150-180mm drop) with Wolftooth lever Deity Deftrap Pedals WTB Volt saddle I also have an extra Lyrik that has been upgraded eith the Debonair spring and charger 2.1 damper. Video: Friday Fails #237
I laughed too hard at this one. Looked like they were stopping just to have a look. Then dead. That was a long way down too. I too am glad they had a ff on.

Randoms: Magnetic Pedals, Vintage Bikes, & Prototypes - Crankworx Whistler 2022
@kroozctrl: I definitely wouldnt give it a go on the magpeds specifically because of the positioning. On my hellcats I actually extended the channels just so i could get my foot more forward on the pedal. I noticed right away the magpeds would be a no go for me. The hustle pedals are what have sparked my interest. They look more like you would use the cage of the pedals. In theory the pins would do more work there. But at the same time its pretty cost prohibitive. Id rather ride my deity deftraps or the mallets.

I think most of the reviews ive read on magnet pedals (this and another brand) seem to say that if you’re coming from clipless, you wont like it because it doesn’t hold as well as clipless. However if you’re coming from flats you’ll like it because it doesn’t hold as well as clipless. As someone coming from flats, id like to try it. I like a stiff shoe, but want to stand on a flat pedal. Ive done short stints on fiveten hellcats and mallet dh pedals. It wasnt an awful experience.

Opinion: Aaron Gwin & The Importance of Vulnerability
I actually had a similar opinion of Gwin. For sure he was dominating the dh world and i loved it. But his personality in interviews seemed very dry and responses seemed canned. Like what you get from a lot of professional athletes. So i enjoyed his victories, but less so the post interviews. It did seem like he was just about the business and didnt want to share his personal life. Which is understandable. He just seemed disconnected and it just made it hard to buy into his “brand”. He did a track preview with Claudio one year and it was awesome to see him doing manuals and whatnot. Made me want to see more of his personality. Ive really enjoyed his Going for 6 series on YouTube this year. As well as his instructional stuff he did prior. We get to see more of who he is.

@mi-bike: im 50/50 on how i feel about that. On the one hand, if she podiums, thats super awesome that she can come back like that and shows how dominant of a rider she truly is. On the other, it signals to me that the womens field hasnt advance in her absence. That would be a bummer to me. I think the womens racing has been great lately.
