Video: Chris Akrigg "Freetrials" in Barcelona
Impressive as always. So much fun to watch Akrigg ride a bike. He does stuff most of us mortals can only dream of doing.

Spotted: New Shimano XTR
@jaame: You're probably right - you can achieve that range on 11 with a thicker chain. The most likely reason is so the bike companies can sell us new parts.

It's so you have range in places with 18% climbs and then steep descents. On my 11-40 with a 32, there are some climbs where I live that I struggle up, and then I spin out on the way down. Next drive train will be 11-46 with a 34. But I suspect even more range on a 12-spd helps to further alleviate this issue.

Review: MRP Ribbon Coil Fork
Questions about coil forks: Are they more consistent-feeling over their life-span? Do they need to be serviced as often as an air-fork? Is the service as invasive / demanding?

Review: TRP Slate T4 Brakes
On a non-DH trail, the benefits of 4-pots are probably more modulation and less force required to brake. It's possible these brakes don't dissipate heat super well, making them perform poorly on a DH trail. But the review says they're under-powered. Which is weird because I thought adding an extra set of pistons was to add more power. What's going on?! Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I like to think it's in response to the poster on the EWS photo thread who was butthurt about like... 2 black and white photos. Most likely, however, it's just Matt's artistic discretion.
