First Ride: Zipp's New 1Zero HiTop Carbon Wheels
@onawalk: I am seeing about about double that usually. Usual temp range is about a 30F increase in temp through a ride. And about a 15-20% rise in pressure Quite sensitive. LIke a river crossing and I'll see a 1-2psi drop as well. And then recover as the tyre returns to temp.

First Ride: Zipp's New 1Zero HiTop Carbon Wheels
I've been using Tyrewiz on all my carbon mtb wheels across multiple bikes. I like softer pressures so being sure of the safety margin is great. I haven't broken rims or had any pinch flats since using Tyrewiz and display on my Garmin. It's more than just checking pressure at the start of a ride. I am surprised at how much pressure changes during a ride! Temperature in particular has a measurable effect. Starting a ride in a cold valley and riding into a hot day will rise the tyre pressure by 15-20% which is something you will feel. Or if you have your bike in the sun driving to the ride in the back of your truck canopy and then ride into cooler forest shade and river crossings. NOticeable pressure drop before you drop into the trail. I think it's a great geek-out tool that's easy to get the best reliability and repeatable feel out of your tyres.

Thanks for this. I feel this has been a more insightful and honest review than many full-blown articles on the individual components. Always so interesting to see what works and what doesn't.

DH Bike Review: Atherton AM.200M.1
So the elephant in the room is the price. No doubt it is special and part of the unique selling point. But... Could this cost not be much cheaper by using CNC alu lugs. They already use a CNC rocker. The straight carbon tubes are not expensive items compared to how normal carbon frames are made. So simple straight carbon tubes and customizable CNC'ed alu lugs - maybe this could work

Video: $3,800 vs. $10,000 Used Mountain Bike - Budget vs. Baller Episode 8
Next series. Simple request> Possibly three tiers. First tier is obviously the ball-out big bucks stuff. But also not silly. LIke there is fuctionally no difference between MT7 vs those special edition Magura brakes. So not just blowing cash for the sake of it, but actually getting the highest functional difference. Second Tier is a getting something at a lower budget, but still in the range of what an enthusiast would buy. So definitely not the crap on Henry's bike that is actually unsafe. The microshift drivetrain is a good example of trying something that cheap that is actually a viable alternative for someone looking to save some bucks. OR even the MT5 Magura brakes which are helluva cheap for almost the same thing as the MT7s. Third Tier is second hand. This is more complicated, but for many in this time of supply chain issues it is a real option. So similar budget to the second tier, but probably older and a higher spec (and maybe needing a service). Is this worthwhile?

OneUp Announces New 240mm & 90mm Dropper Posts
This is not just for super tall people. I am 175cm tall. Average. BUt I do have long legs. On my 2021 Stumpjumper S3 I currently have the 210 dropper and could probably get at least 220 on the bike if not 230mm. So perhaps it's not the common body shape, but new bikes with short seat tubes and long reach it does open up a lot of options

Updated: Specialized Plans to Add Consumer-Direct Sales February 1
I have heard about the strange pricing you speak about. It makes no sense. The only thing the customer can do is to vote with their wallet. Unfortunately Spez is like BMW in a way. Very nice cars, but often not so nice customers. I have some Spez and GIant bikes because in South Africa it is a well supported brand with fair pricing and good resale.

A question around the price to the consumer Online you pay what you pay. The price is fixed. But with an LBS there is usually some room to negotiate or include some freebies in the sales price. With the LBS, who here actually pays full RRP? And that's before you get to the usual LBS services and setup with a bike sale. For traditional LBS brands who now offer click and collect it seems like if you want the best price it still pays to go to your LBS and make some friends.
