4 Things We Learned from the 2026 Andorra DH World Cup
It is pretty cool to see how much of a variety of suspension there's been on the podium this season though, seems like every brand has gotten to something that works really well

Bike Checks: 10 Freeride Bikes from Casey Brown's Dark Horse Invitational
The field has been growing pretty rapidly but it's very region dependent, IMO it's good to see new names in the sport coming up. Everyone has to be new before they can grow a reputation

Tech Randoms II: Andorra DH World Cup 2026
@Untgrad: the chemical interface between caliper side pad material and pad material transferred to the rotor is part of what makes brakes bite well, that is a large part of what bedding in a brake constitutes.
Not every pad is the same compound, which leaves different visual artifacts. Could very well be a shorter life pad compound that sram wouldn't sell to consumers but has use in racing. If it's good enough for a world champ to ride on at speed, I'm sure you'd be fine.

Tech Randoms II: Andorra DH World Cup 2026
The starks are faster than a 450, it'll make the dji feel like a kids bike with two dragging brakes. They've got 40x more power continuous compared to an M2S, or even "only" 30x more with their base model varg. Whole lot more fun to be had with them than an e bike

I know when I was at the snowshoe WC there were massive piles of tires left for the locals to scoop, got a pretty fresh set of DHR's out of it and so did some friends

Bike Check: Oisin O'Callaghan's Trek Session Prototype
They're all welded up by Stuart Hawton who makes prototype frames inside the trek HQ, they're not made in the same way that a production frame would be. Kinda the same process that they use for Semunuk's rampage bike or any of the c3 project athletes, where the tube sizing is bespoke. They've just got a pretty solid process for making them look nice compared to other prototypes given how much validation they do on normal bikes before the factories get to work.

Bike Check: Oisin O'Callaghan's Trek Session Prototype
Seems like the fork bumpers on the frame have remained identical though, cool to see how much better the bikes have gotten for riding at speed
