Yea man I tell ya, I'm diggin this shit. The fest series was so sick, just good ol booters and the boys just do their thing, no pressure. Also the rider judged is the best, they all exactly know how respectable a run is and can be and it's the best way to come to a conclusion for positions (podiums etc.) Free ride isn't dead. And don't get me started on rampage and how it's more raw lines. Love it
was a sick conterst, just organized poorly. course should have been dialed in a couple days before. I guess that's the way she goes, just the last minute preparations and not knowing the speed ended up in some injuries for a couple people. still a sick event, sick people.
I agree with this 100%, it was great to watch but I was dissapointed to see another jumpship course that the riders had a hard time making it through on.
Big thanks to Jordie and Peter, all the volunteers and riders, and all the bear mountain people for working so hard! They had trouble getting the flow right, but everyone still went for it and put on a show for the crowd. For lots of Victoria folk this is a great first intro to freeride mountain biking, so hopefully the event will just get better and people will throw down harder and more people will ride bikes!
@hoolydooly is that why you just gave it a special label then? He asked a pretty simple question. Racing and slopestyle (which is a type of freeriding) are completely different things. A race is by definition based on time.
There are shots brilliantly numbered: 11th, 17th, and 20th which reveal a hint to the secret. This competition was only half of the event. The other was having some scenes filmed to the following sequel of Spoke the Hangover. I just can't wait. There are already some leaks of low resolution trailers at www.watchthemoviearlier.ru
It was more of a FEST series style event, guys were just trying to make it through the course and put on a bit of a show. Hopefully the jumps run better next year and we see some more actions!
Jumps were big as were gaps, riders spent a lot of time figuring out speed etc to make jumps. 5 riders in the event, 2 tricks in total, not counting whips, though I couldnt see what was going on at top of course very easily. To be honest I had more fun watching kids on the airbag!
I own a Podium so...
