Been riding all my life and started dirt in '82 when I lived @ Mammoth. Been in the bike industry since '86. Been all aspects of the IBD shop side to National/International AM and OE side so seen and thing or two. Have had the great honor of working with Sam Patterson (am in Sram), Felix Gimondi, Kelly McGregor, Joe Breeze, Peter Sagan and many others. Also just about every major PM in NA. Amazing the places life takes you.

WTB Develops New 750d Wheel Size
Makes sense to me.
700c on 63cm and larger looks like an out of proportion clown car.
Correct the trail and move to proper chain stay length for the biggies.
Perfect OE application is the KHS Flite 747 (a Leonard Zinn derived bike).
That has 200mm cranks and the larger hoops really would be mathematically correct.
If there is a market it will catch fire - then get reflected in the larger OE world.
We’re talking custom frames for people used to buying special due to their circumstances.
I’ve got a GT Tachyon w/ the D size wheels.
That one sorta flopped.

RIP Steve Smith.
Pity the article did not mention the bike’s namesake.
Long live Chainsaw indeed!

First Ride: SRAM's New GX Transmission
@hamncheez:
Agree and up it a notch:
I rode my ti hardtail single speed to switch things up and had a blast. Makes you aware of line choices and make you harden up with momentum.
Full boing/gears for lazy fast days - SS/hardtail for days you want a full sensory work out.

Electric-Powered Weirdness from Eurobike 2023
@BarryWalstead:
Totally agree.
The robot machine bikes will not be known as “normal”. It’s still a moped - harden up buttercups.

Brian's Day 1 Randoms - Eurobike 2023
@eddlessride:
A bit of hollow crank forging history here.
TH Industries/FSA was the first to do a hollow cold forged 7005 series alloy rather than the standard 6000 series (Gravity Light 7005).
Very expensive process and at the time 60% stiffer than Saints.
If you are a fan of cold forged parts it would be great to see this process carried on and perfected.

Bike Check: Milan Vader's Cervelo ZFS-5 Short Track Bike
Interesting:
“This modification aims to optimize the bike's performance for the demands of short track racing.”
Basically we can’t make a properly efficient bike even when locked out.
Might as well go full 90’s XC and make the thing of elastomer - that would be more interesting.
