SRAM Quietly Releases Eagle S-Series Drivetrains That Are Not T-Type
@fpeterHUN: 100%, I feel like inflation for things that aren't essentials like groceries has just passed people by in the last few years. Europe and the US has had 25-30% total inflation over the last 5 years but people's salaries and brains just haven't kept up. I'm not saying we've just got to surrender to being poorer, but a company raising their prices in line with inflation isn't in some money grabbing conspiracy.

I mean obviously? This just in, Pinkbike commenter discovers buying scratched up old stuff is cheaper than brand new stuff with a warranty, and in other news we have reports than Brendog was robbed once again.

10 Things I Loved in 2025: Mike Kazimer
@GTscoob: 100%. Done most of my riding on an XC bike this year, and it's been really surprising seeing how far you can push the tyres in certain conditions, and how approachable the limit of grip is with more smaller knobs vs fewer taller ones. Definitely going for some more 'trail' tyres on my enduro bike next Spring.

More XC Tech Randoms - 2025 Leogang XC World Cup
Yes. Having a brake that isn't at the absolute limit of it's capacity gives you other choices, you might be able to choose from organic or sintered pads or be able to go for a smaller disc with no adapter that might be lighter. Plus the Level 4 piston is lighter than the 2 piston. Outside of the races, they'll be riding much longer descents where they might cook a 2 piston riding hard but not a 4 piston.

A lifetime warranty that only applies when 'serviced annually by a professional mechanic' using their specified grease. I don't really blame them, if it was an unconditional 'free replacement bearings for life' then that would be silly, but I think I'd rather just buy an OEM BB and replace every couple of years. If you do buy one, buy it for the genuinely pretty cool design that uses much larger balls than other designs that take a standard cartridge bearing, not for an infinite supply of BBs.

First Look: 2025 Calibre Bossnut - The Budget Boss Is Back
Used to sell bikes at a Go Outdoors and I was always stoked to spend the time with people getting a Bossnut as their first proper mountain bike, especially 15/16 year olds who'd spent summers and weekends working at £4 an hour to get one. Work at a shop with more expensive brands now, good to have somewhere to recommend people again when our offerings can't match their budget.

Review: Atherton S.170 - All Action Subtraction
I remember reading as part of the 2023 enduro field test that Henry was running about 10% sag in his fork and thinking that it seemed mental to set up your bike like no one else would then give confident, nuanced opinions about how different bikes rode.
