Pinkbike Poll: How Much Further Should the Longer, Lower, & Slacker Trend Go?
The reality is we've reached a point where...it depends! At this point, it's becoming more about the horse for the course. Depending on where you live, what terrain you have access to, and what style riding you favour is the bigger determinate of appropriate geometry. If you're living in, ahem, Wisconsin you don't need a big slacked out enduro rig (unless that's your thing, not judging) whereas living in Whistler you may favour geo pushing full on DH sleds. Grimm Donut FTW in Chile?!? There's never been a better time to pick your poison, from super capable all-rounders to rigs favouring your conditions, there's a geometry for that. Long live the boutique builders, the people who will keep trying things the big brands won't risk for sake of bottom line, the little guys are where I'm looking for ongoing adaptation. God bless our fat tire renaissance.

First Look: Rocky Mountain Updates Altitude & Instinct Powerplay Models with Dyname 4.0 motor
@djpaulyd: I had an Altitude Powerplay and rode it on the Shore 2 winters in wet and muddy conditions. The small drive cogs hold up quite well, but do have to be replaced eventually just like a drive train would be. They don't wear out easily or often, bottom line. Presumably the rings on the new design aren't that far off the tested and true rings on old models.

Video: Meta Power 29 vs 160E vs Range VLT vs Kenevo SL - Field Test Roundtable
My Sherco 250SE was cheaper than every bike in this test. But that won't surprise the KTM riders :D

Field Test: 2022 Norco Range C1 - The Pedal Friendly 'Downhill' Bike
Good technical review, but pretty lacking on the overall scorecard of riding performance attributes and soul of the bike. Yes I know the bases were covered, but reviews from other, more experienced journos typically give a better overall description of the bike's performance characteristics. Not taking away from Matt, this is a good review, just that presumably there is a scoring template that could be leveraged by the supporting editorial team to deliver a more comprehensive balance of technical features and performance characteristics. Just my two bits.

Rocky Mountain Reaper package - all wheel sizes

$3500 CAD
The base bike is the 26' wheel Reaper, but also comes with custom set of 24' wheels, and a 27.5' front wheel and fork, which will allow your aspiring ripper to ride this bike for a wide range of growth. Your mileage will vary, but my boy rode it from age 8 to 12 starting with the 24' wheels, moving to the 26' as he grew, and finally to the 26' rear / 27.5' front mullet setup (which he loved). Here's the original bike profile: https://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/reaper/2017. The size is 26' wheel, they don't list a frame size hence I chose XS for the add. The tires are all Maxxis, with Maxx Grip on the front wheels and primarily set up tubless for weight reduction and better feel. In addition to the extra wheels, the bike has a Fox 34 FIT4 Factory fork for the 27.5 wheel, and a PNW dropper post. Includes original post because with the 24' wheels your kiddo will probably not be tall enough to use the Post. Also includes a pair of cut-down Bontrager carbon fibre bars for the smaller rider until they grow into the riser bars. The bike is in excellent mechanical condition, but does have some scratches as would be expected. This is a really sweet and unique package, and will see your young rider through a wide range of growth on a consistent and familiar platform to help them grow their confidence and skills on a bike that can keep up to their progression. .

PowerPlay C70

$6000 CAD
This bike is in excellent condition. It has a few minor scuffs on chainstay and some light wear on top tube my from legs but still looks quite buff as you can see in the pics. I'm 6' tall and ride an XL because it's the same reach (480mm) and shorter chainstay (426mm) than my Large Yeti SB150. No issues with clearance at all and fits 170mm dropper. Parts are all stock (see link below) but with addition of CushCore Pro in rear, XT 11-46 cogset, Saint Pedals, Assegai Maxx Grip (F&R) and SLX rear derailleur - the drivetrain is quite fresh, less than 10 rides on it. https://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/altitude-powerplay/2019 Lots of life in this bike as it was my 3rd bike and only selling it because I have to make way for my motorcycle.
