Video: Advanced MTB Cornering Techniques with Christina Chappetta
I generally see coaches/curriculum talk about elbows out to aid in body-bike separation, so it should be applied most aggressively for turns and aggressive climbs. Coaches often latch on to the message without understanding the, "why." Because of this, we often hear coaches and parents screaming, "ELBOWS OUT," endlessly at youth races. Aside from when it's useful/necessary, you're right, elbows should be natural/relaxed.

Review: Lezyne Super Pro GPS Computer
I've got this unit. Love it. I wanted to simply track rides and review my own progress. It syncs well with my Wahoo Speed Sensor and HRM (didn't have good luck with the Lezyne HRM; company was way cool in helping me sort out the problem and taking care of me for my troubles). I never bother linking phone up when I'm riding. My hearing aids (retired Combat Engineer) connect to my phone, so I can take emergency phone calls while riding. Don't care about texts or emails until I'm done. The interface does feel old school, but as soon as I got used to the menus, no problems. Bottom line, it's been an accurate GPS that pairs with with phones and devices easily and does exactly what I need it to do.

Good eye. We had a blast up there. He just rode the whole skinny, so I was going to record. Then we got this gem!

Review: Shimano's XT 12-Speed Drivetrain is Smart Money
"XT takes that hit, but strikes back with an adjustable clutch on the derailleur, and that it's possible to drop down two gears with one push of the shift lever." I must be reading this incorrectly. My GS Eagle can drop FOUR gears with one swipe of the lever. Somebody help me out.

Video: Finn Iles' Progression in the Whistler Bike Park
Okay, that's still over 2 hours a day every day, winter included. I'm guessing there was just a crazy estimate and someone ran with it.

The kid is awesome- already better than I'll ever be! 10,000 hours though? Is that a typo? If he got those hours between 10-16 years old, he'd have to ride more than 4.5 hours a day EVERY DAY including winters. That's a little hard to fathom.
