That's just advertising, they market things to people based on how they see themselves. Nerf guns are modeled by teenagers, because 12 year olds want to be teenagers so bad. Poise adult diapers are always modeled by 40 year olds. And don't even get me started on how pickup trucks are advertised vs how they are used. even bike ads are modeled by how we see ourselves as riders. on one hand it shows what the bike is capable of, on the other hand... psh as if. there are more freds and joeys riding s-works bikes that there are pros riding s-works bikes.

Looking back to my first experiences of cycling, My parents bought me a $300 BMX and were constantly wagging their finger at me. "don't let anybody ride it" "look at this scratch on this nice bike we bought you." But once I was out of their line of sight, I was truly free. No money in my pocket, but out 8 hours a day with my friends, drinking from backyard garden hoses, and riding all over my city with the posse. I know that things change, but if you told me when I was a kid, and you told me that some kids are riding $5600 dollar bikes, my mind would be blown to pieces. somehow I feel that this bike would cheapen the experience of being young and on a bike. But I'm old. Ridersin the future will proudly tout their Emtb background. when we are all riding hoverbikes with wireless spokes

I can feel my lizard brain react when I see one, but the fact is that every wheel can be improved by applying more power to it. e bikes are going to revolutionize the sport and bring more people in. Video: How to Buy a Value Bike in 2024

Buy a good bike and ride it for 10 plus years. Keep track of your miles and then divide them buy the cost of the bike. Learn to do basic maintenance yourself, and take it to the shop when you are out of your depth. You'd be surprised how much of a value you get when you actually ride it and maintain it.
