PRESS RELEASE: Calibre Bikes

Introducing the Line29 from Calibre bikes.

The natural progression in our range to follow the award winning Line10 650b hardtail trail weapon, we developed the Line29 to handle everything from all day cross country epics to railing ruts at your local this winter. Boost front and rear with bolt through axles increase stiffness and provide a future-proof base for upgrading over the years. Equipped with SRAM NX 11 speed groupset and a 11-46t cassette, the Line29 has the gear range to handle the ups, with a dropper post from KS making the downs just as effortless. SRAM Guide T brakes and WTB aftermarket rubber round off a spec that redefines value in this category.

Available now for £899 *with your GO Outdoors Discount Card.

I wish all the new budget bikes would come with the NX 11 speed or even a shimano 10 speed instead of the new SX. This bike looks well specced for the price. And it looks really nice.

I always love to see what calibre comes up with. Now people can experiment with fun hardtails without breaking the bank.

Baffles me why at this price range ppl arnt buying second hand of ebay pinkbike and gumtree?Recently I saw a stanton hard tail with a fox 36 fork, hope wheels and 11 speed xt in pristine condition for 1300! Surely an extra 200 bucks an a little patience/research is the thing to be doing?

Shhhhhh don't tell anyone! All the good second handers will be gone otherwise!

Yeah but you could say the same thing with cars. If you got a secondhand bike with a fox 36, you break that fork and need a new one, youll need a grand to do that. whereas a new bike, rockshox recon aren't too bad, but if that breaks you can get a new one under warranty. you always get them people ''why would you get that brand new focus ST when you can get a nissan GTR for the same price'' it doesn't always work that easy

Saw this, thought it looked interesting, went to the Go Outdoors website. Had a click about and spotted a good deal on some 5.10's. I can't buy the 5.10's though. There are other 5.10's on the site that are out of stock, which is quite bad, but the ones I want seem to be in stock somewhere, but they don't appear to want money. I can't choose to pick them up either - they have at least 3 stores not too far from me. My guess is that there are some really bright, forward thinking people designing and speccing bikes, doing a great job of telling the world about them, being held back by company culture, management, something!

I always keep a check on GoOutdoors for 5:10's. At least once a year they get a batch of Impact Pro that they sell for £50 with discount card.

I work for a Go Outdoors. Though we do sell a load of stock, everything that's in the various stores is listed on the web. This means that if there's a pair of shoes in one particular store that went on sale years ago and wasn't restocked, it'll still be listed. We don't transfer stock between stores in individual cases anymore as it isn't cost effective. It's a bit of a pain tbh, we get loads of disappointed customers that have seen a great deal on the web that simply doesn't exist apart from in one particular store.

Very interesting choice with Vigilante in the rear and Trail Boss up front. Wonder how that does.

Looks like somebody messed up the bike build for the photo shoot. Bike looks pretty damn solid otherwise!

Saw this at the NEC Bike Show and it does look nice, even had the tyres the wrong way round too! Things I did spot though was the rims are narrow and poor quality (bad join on both, nipple holes not all the same and had burs) and the chainring was marked up as a 90mm BCD, makes getting replacements hard. Other than that a nice looking bike.

Was looking to buy a seconds hardtail, now I might buy a new one!

On my shopping list. Geo looks spot on, and looking for something to replace my trusty old bizango for winter duties.

33lbs woof. You can get a On One Scandal with better parts for the same money and it weighs 29.5lbs and comes with a rockshox 35 instead of a recon.

That comes with SRAM SX though. That's a no go for a lot of people.

Did lokk at that bike myself. Would not get the sx build only the gx, and that build is now 1100. As for rockshox 35 gold, still sounds like that fork has the revelations sticky Ness. To be honest, I think I would rather have a nx 11 spd trans over an sx 12 spd. Has a dropper for the money as well.

@DangerDavez: Meh, for the sake of half an hour's work swapping it out it does sound like the better choice. Replace the whole thing with 10sp SLX and sell the SX, it wouldn't cost you much either.

Or, you can also stop pretending that the reason you suck at riding is those 3 extra lbs.

Can you call tires "aftermarket" when they come as OEM on the bike ?
  • 3 0
Nah, I'd rather get the B'Twin AM 100 HT from Decathlon or a reduced/on sale Cube Reaction TM Race

Call me old fashioned but I’d rather another 100quid and have this

Caliber seems better balanced. Longer chainstays, shorter wheelbase.

Anyone pick these up in the US? A brief dig on their website wasn't too clear.
  • 1 0
Used to via GoOutdoors but then Go changed their website and hasn't been able to ship internationally for over a year.
  • 1 0
Customer service says they will be able to ship international in a few weeks, but are unable at the moment
  • 1 0
Customer service at GoOutdoors UK or from Calibre themselves? Go has had this screwed up for a while unfortunately. I got an Astronut from them and it was a killer deal, bike is extremely nice for the money! The Bossnuts are a super value and solid bike.
