SRAM's New DUB Cranks and Bottom Brackets - First Look
Yeah man, I agree... they just released the GX Eagle in June... think they would have announced this awesome new standard with the release of the original Eagle groupset. They f*ed all of you, but man what do you expect from an industry that has changed wheel size standards twice in 5 years and made half to all framesets 2 or more years old completely obsolete with introducing boost spacing? What do you expect from a company who charges $1500 for a drivetrain? For them to have your financial interests in mind? I get it, each new model that comes out, I itch to have it whether a frame set or component, but what stops me for the most part is stuff like this...

YT Industries Releases Autobiographical Video, New Branding & 2018 Range
@gramboh: Hell yeah they are! the only reason I have my Scout is because I got a killer deal on the Level 3, otherwise I'd probably be riding a Jeffsy 29 as well! still thinking about the Jeffsy as a second though... looks too fun to not throw a leg over one at least once! edit: to(o)

YT Industries Releases Autobiographical Video, New Branding & 2018 Range
@Poulsbojohnny: Interesting, and it may seem bias from me as I ride a 2016 scout... But Transition came out with the Giddy Up line of bikes in 2015 (ran 3 model years) and probably could have continued them for another 2-3 years truly. I mean, even with 1/2" less than the Capra the 1st gen Patrol performs just as well as the Capra. As far as updated or forward thinking geometry goes, Transition has been pushing it since 2015. The entire 1st generation: Scout, Smug and Patrol all have insanely low BB heights, long reach and only the Smuggler (less travel 29er) had a steeper HTA than YT bikes. As to fork offset, and TT Length, Transition approaches their bikes completely different that YT, comparing the two doesn't work as the only bikes in the 2018 line up you'll truly be able to compare w/o too much mismatch is the New Patrol and the New Capra just as I mentioned the gen 1 Patrol is as much bike as the currently available Capra.

Tour de Tahoe: Bikepacking and Fly Fishing in the Sierra Mountains - Video
Do it, I did it 5 years ago and it has been the experience of a lifetime. It's been a warmer winter and I'm rode hero dirt the last 2 days hero dirt. Downside is I don't know how much longer I can afford it here. Housing costs are outta control, it's a tourism based economy with less and less consistent winters. That itself threatens the viability of the year round economy. Even worse is that summers are so crowded from rising temperatures that it's a living hell with crowded, blown out trails and clueless tourists. They call it poverty with a view.

Yes, The Rim Trail asks that you keep your dog on a leash, but in my experience I have had no issues running my pup off leash here. Opinions and experiences may differ from my own, just carry a leash with you and you'll be good.

With how winter has been around here, the riding has been amazing already. Looks like we may be getting the snow everyone's been waiting for, it was an awesome season while it lasted!

Team CRC Mavic Leave Downhill Racing to Focus on Enduro
@uskas: Huh? the first 29ers were noodle trail bikes 1st and foremost, DH was the LAST discipline to convert. High Range 1x? Pfft! What downhill racer needs a 9-46 cassette? They don't climb, but yes I'll give you the fact that 1x (not high range) came down from DH.
