Throwback Thursday: The Collective Full Movie with Ryan Leech, Thomas Vanderham, Tyler Klassen & More
This was the first mtb DVD I owned. I love the soundtrack. There's a playlist on Spotify for it. This set the standard for mtb movies and I haven't ever really found anything that exceeds it.

Pinkbike Poll: Singletrack or Fire Road Climbs?
There is an attack on technical singletrack climbing these days, especially in Vermont. The enduro-bros just want a fireroad. No one knows how to do a technical singletrack climb anymore. Trail days are done to remove the singletrack and just make it a boring, easy climb. Really makes me sad and angry.

Warranties - Who's Doing Them Right, & What Could Be Improved?
Trek has been good to me with warranties but they should try to do a better job of making frames and wheels that last instead of just sending out replacements constantly.

Warranties - Who's Doing Them Right, & What Could Be Improved?
A cracked frame that a rider continues to ride is a liability to the bike company, potentially. If a rider is too cheap to get a new frame after a warranty claim is denied, and hurts themselves, it could be a bad look for the company regardless of who was right or wrong. It is cheaper to send a $1,000 frame (their cost) than deal with a lawsuit.

Jan 2, 2025Transition Sentinel XL Frame
$975 USDNOTE, THIS IS ALSO LISTED ON EBAY. EBAY CHARGES A 13% FEE, SO THE PRICE IS LESS HERE.
Transition Sentinel Carbon XL Frame
Includes Fox Factory X2 shock, FSA headset, derailleur hanger, axle, and a Shimano bottom bracket. Seatpost not included. Has a scratch on the swingarm – I have no recollection of how that happened. Possibly from knee pads or getting leaned on a rock. Surprisingly, I never had a crash on this bike. It has seen fewer than ten days of lift service downhill.
For reference, I’m 6’ 4” and it fits me really well. I had a 240mm dropper on it. I have left the housing in the frame so you can get a dropper installed quickly without having to fish a cable through.
8 lbs as shown but without the seatpost.
Rear shock is only about one year old. Everything works fine, no leaks and holds air. A little bit of cavitation. Frame bearings were also replaced about a year ago. No creaks.
I liked this bike so much I bought the same frame, just in the other color! No issues with this frame, I always wanted the “loam gold” frame but I couldn’t find one during the pandemic supply chain times. The geometry puts you in an ideal, efficient pedaling position. On the downs, the bike is a blast. The suspension is active and the frame is stiff.
This is a 29er frame. 150mm rear travel. 12x148mm. Meant for a 160mm fork.
Purchased in September of 2021 from Chucks Bikes in Vermont.

Is that actually a 2005 Fox 40 or is it just painted to look that way? Totally awesome

Matt Beer's 2024 Predictions
I had said how helpful it would be to have an on-demand dropper years ago and I got downvoted to no end. Now everyone wants one. That's mtb culture I guess. It's only cool when PB says it's cool. Oh well.
