Sixpack Announces New Internal Cable Routing System
Oh f*ck right off. I will literally never buy a bike with cable tourism aka headset routing. Glad that there's still brands like RAAW and Santa Cruz who haven't lost their freaking marbles.

Amaury Pierron Sustained a C5 Vertebrae Fracture In Lenzerheide
It seems like there was a lot of shit going wrong in Lenzerheide. The timing system did fail multiple times. In qualifying the clock just didn't stop after some racers had already crossed the finish line. Just kept running. That might also be the reason why some racers didn't qualify for finals. Also the track itself: The broadcasters need all the tracks to shorter and faster for their own convenience, which absolutely sucks.

Amaury Pierron Sustained a C5 Vertebrae Fracture In Lenzerheide
This. His approach to racing isn't sustainable. No one in the top 20 is injured as frequently as he is. There was a possibiliy that Amaury Pierron wouldn't even have been last years overall world cup champion despite winning like 4 world cup races. If he would have crahsed out of the Mont Saint Anne race, Finn Iles would have won the overall. Knowing how Pierron rides, this was a real possibility.

[UPDATED] Elite Finals Results & Overall Standings from the Leogang DH World Cup 2023
@Muckal: If I identify as Finn Iles, does that automatically make me able to ride as fast as Finn Iles? And should I furthermore be able to force everyone to just accept the postfactual claim that I'm in fact as fast - just because I said so and because it would hurt my feelings otherwise? There was probably some sort of clever, insightful criticism of the modern identity movement and how the subscribers to that ideology have a devastating and irrational aversion of facts in here - but I'm too lazy to type it out right now.

Finals Photo Epic: Leogang DH World Cup 2023
Disclaimer; this isn't intended to be disrespectful or insulting, but: Has anyone else noticed that Vali in most of her photos looks quite chubby for an elite-level athlete? She doesn't exactly have the svelte, muscular physique of an olympian. That being said, with yesterdays gold medal, she's clearly proven her physical prowess, she's obviously fit and strong enough to absolutely, positively decimate the competition when she's having a good day. This got me thinking: Wouldn't DH racers with a higher body weight enjoy a big advantage over their competitors in general? Being heavier, you'd obviously accelerate faster downhill, you'd probably have an easier time getting your tires to really hook up in the mud or on loose soil and you'd be less affected by rapid hits in quick succession that might bounce a lighter rider off line. Given you're strong enough to handle your body weight, I'm actually struggling to come up with any disadvantages a heavier athlete would have compared to a lighter one in downhill racing.

The Pinkbike Podcast: BMX Backgrounds & Breaking Bikes with Taj Mihelich
@acdownhill: Even if he's just taken time off, just f*ckin say that then - without revealing any details. I don't want to know WHY he has taken time off or what's going on in his personal life. From the very beginning, no one ever asked for any private details. That was never a thing. Just to reiterate. I don't care whats going on with Levy himself. All I want to know is why the PB team acted so weird about this.

First Ride: 2024 Rocky Mountain Slayer
Ugh, another stupidly overpriced Rocky which has basically nothing special going for itself. The reviews on other sites (Enduro Magazine, MTB-News) have been less than stellar. At this point I'm wondering how Rocky is even still in business.

First Ride: 2024 Rocky Mountain Slayer
@rnayel: It's so funny to me how people will never let Rocky Mountain hear the end of this - all because one single frame cracked during one review. Meanwhile there's literally hundreds if not thousands of examples online of Specialized Enduros which have practically all cracked in the same spot at headtube - and no one is talking about that. Not even PB, who gave glowing review to a bike riddled with engineering flaws.

The Pinkbike Podcast: BMX Backgrounds & Breaking Bikes with Taj Mihelich
At this point I don't even care about what Levy is doing, but I would really, really like to know why the PB team was acting so f*cking weird about the whole thing. Like, no one was ever asking about any details of Levy's personal life. All we wanted to know is wheter he still is with PB or not. They could have just come out and said "Hey, Levy is still alive, but he's not with PB anymore. Sadly we can't tell you any details as of right now. Cheers." That would have been all, but they didn't. They made it a weirdly big thing instead. Also, how is it weird when by far the most prominent of the editors and practically the public face of the company just goes missing all of a sudden and people want to know what happened to him? For many people, Levy was PB. If someone puts themself into the spotlight this much, there's naturally going to be questions if and when he just vanishes without a word.
