Exactly. Let's say, the race has 5 stages, and you win 4 of them by 1 second, but have a crash in the other stage that costs you 1 minute. While your day was ruined with the old system, you'll still get loads of points for the overall with the new system.

World Cup DH Semi-Finals & Enduro Given UCI World Cup Status for 2023

I'm really disappointed that they've cut the womens field even more. The semi finals would have been a great opportunity to give more female riders a stage to show their speed and boost women DH. 30 women racing semi finals with 15 making it to the finals would have been great.

Now that the replay is up, here is exactly what Rob said at the end of the post race show: "We've lost the world cup rights, but Red Bull will be back next year, i promise you very much so. Sometimes, we're even better, when we have to start from scratch." This doesn't seem like they will simply air the IXS or any other existing series, but something brand new. It is notable, that he said this right after talking about Red Bull Hardline...
