5 Things We Learned from the Araxá XC World Cup 2024
The most awesome XCO race I have watched - ever! For the past few years, cross country racing has been technical and nice to watch, but never has it been that exciting to watch as Araxa. It was very obvious who trains on the jump lines, knows how to link obstacles. The guys and girls in the front all rode awsomely.

Corporate Drama as Beat Zaugg Claims He's Still CEO of Scott Sports
@thetruejb: read the article, not just the headline. Chinese owned factory in South America closed. Chinese firm went out of business. Now a human rights group tries to help the workers by publicly asking (putting pressure on) former high profile customers of the firm to pay for it. Sad story about the workers as they were cheated out of their wages by the Chinese company, but I'm not sure I like the approach by the rights group so much either. Read the article please: https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/workers-rights-groups-pursue-specialized-for-portion-of-dollar650k-unpaid-wages-and-benefits-to-factory-workers/

Scott Sports Replaces its CEO in "Refresh"
WOW, that sounds more like a hostile takeover coup attempt than a happy ever after "hit the refresh button" procedure. Let's hope they figure out a solution before the whole thing goes down in chaos.

Video: The Riders Overlooked By Modern Geometry
I rode size Large from the 1990's until... Then the local twisty/turny trails started feeling not all that fun anymore. Now I ride Medium (S3) size bikes and I'm all happy again. Bigger wheels, slacker head angle, shorter stem are all great, the very steep seat angles nowadays, not so sure, the much longer reach and wheel base - not for me, not for how I prefer to ride.

Video: Inside the Hope Factory
Chapeau hope technology. 1 guy in the warranty department for a company that makes such a big range of products - that pretty much says it all.

Racing Rumours 2024 Part 1: Danny Hart Off Cube, Vali to YT, the End of GT Factory Racing, Kintner Off Norco, & More
Here's an idea: Find sponsors outside the bike industry! It works in Road and CX and it used to work in MTB (it's been a while though). To rely solely on industry sponsors keeps budgets low in good times (there's just not as much money in bikes as some commenters want to believe), and breaks up teams in bad times. It's simply bad business, and apparently people suffer from bad business.

Gee Atherton Air-Lifted from the Red Bull Rampage Course After Crash in Practice [Updated with Injury Report]
I thought the same thing. This was such a huge drop - the acceleration force at impact, after an 18m+ freefall must have been incredible. A "normal" human would have simply folded and vanished. Gee Atherton, strong as an ox, held on but seemed to lose control on impact. Healing vibes to Gee. But man, as cool as his projects and videos are, I wish he'd take it down a notch. Honestly, what's the point in public self destruction?!
