@boozed: this is what stopped me buying one last year. I really wanted one. Bike price was in budget but I'm fucked if I'm paying that.
If my folks weren't old and knew how to put a bike together and in a bike bag I was going to see how much to ship it here myself. But couldn't be arsed finding out :)

Quick question from a newbie.
The piggy back suspension rear shock. I've seen them set up like with the chamber sticking out at the side.
Apologies for sounding like a Rube , but doesn't that get in the way of peddling or does it not stick out that much. I'm on about In pics 8 and 9, just before UPDATES section.
Or am I just seeing an optical illusion

I feel triggered.
I'm usually good with money. But I'm seeing all these awesome bikes on sale recently with decent specs for the most part and what's the first thing I think?
I could change the brakes there, oh and maybe a fork. And the drivetrain. And did someone say coil suspension?

@bikehoarder23: this is so fucking true
ESPECIALLY if it's a "value" price bike. Sites like this review them like they are comparable to bikes 3 times the price and can easily put you off. Accentuate the negatives far too much.
I don't shill for any brand. NORCO might be my favourite, I think. But I can't think of any reason that anyone starting out or even everyday amateurs aren't pushed to buy a decent polygon or Marin. Usually Mega speccd compared to much more expensive bikes etc, or bikes like the FLUID which are more than enough bike for most riders.
Rant over and in short I agree with you completely

I've has this for 3 years and it's horrible.
I will get on an exercise bike, not even flat out, my heart only gets to around 140 and I have to stop. I'm literally sitting there like I'm dying. Not out of breath but can't breathe. I'm heaving the air in through my nose for around 4 massive sniffs until I can breathe. The weird thing is that right after it I can carry on exercising as normal.
And I can go for weeks without it happening and then one day.. BOOM. Just hits me.
I went for tests and my doctor said the xrays/mri showed some really mild emphysema, so i just thiught it was that, and because i used to smoke up until 12 years ago when I had kids was due to that.
It's the WORST feeling. I honestly thought I was dying once. And it only lasted around 10 seconds.
