Hoffman is recovering from a major car accident. His post before that i think he even talks about it. Maybe they didnt want to bother him. Also, they didnt have to design a course...they just went into Pat Caseys backyard.
@nsmithbmx:You could say the same for Joe Johnson (creator of tailwhip and 2x tailwhip). Dude was trying 3x tailwhips back in 1989 (not pulling them though).
I feel like RW should've won dirt best trick. I mean really.. a 360 double flip? that's ridiculous. I guess they picked the double flip no hander cause of the smoother landing, but still. What Ryan did was nuts.
Thank you for collecting all these clips, Alicia. Cool to see this stuff in one place. i follow a couple of BMXers on IG but would not have seen all this. Going to miss these innocent days when content is not presented only to benefit the Master.
It’s just the competition riders who are doing all these mad spins. They’re a bit like the bmx equivalent of rampage riders everyone likes watching but nobody’s really trying to ride like that.
This was awesome to watch, really enjoyed it. I thought the judging was pretty on-point, and I like how they don't award numeric scores but simply rank the riders. Makes it simpler.
@crujonesisradd: Agreed, years go there were a few guys who could do video game runs but the field was still reasonably filled with stylish riders too, who wouldn't commonly win but the core riders of BMX and the like would be stoked to see their idol ride and out style everyone.
I literally could have played Dave mirra bmx(showing my age here ha ha) and had more fun than watching boring ass video game runs through and through
