Rocky Mountain Growler Jr 26 Upgraded

$650 USD
Rocky Mountain Growler Jr 26 kids mountain bike with upgrades. Well maintained, fork has been upgraded to a Rock Shox 35 Gold set to 100mm travel. This air spring fork is adjustable to your childs weight and weighs a few pounds less than the stock coil sprung fork. Drivetrain is Microshift Acolyte kids 8 speed wide range with clutch derailleur so the chain doesn't fall off when riding real trails. PNW Components dropper (125mm) with Race Face lever, there is a couple nicks on the dropper but it works as it should. Tires are Schwalbe Nobby Nic 26x2.4 set up tubeless. SDG kids specific saddle, Race Face Chester pedals. Frame has some paint scuffs and scratches from use, but overall is in great shape. Good for kids about 4'6 to 5' tall. Asking $650, this bike new with lesser parts is $959.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Where Downhill Tech is Going, and Which Prototype We'd Love to Ride
It would be great if you guys could elaborate on your personal geometry preferences and how you arrived at them. As you said you get to ride a ton of bikes, what are you feeling when the reach is too long, or other dimensions? I've traditionally ridden XL bikes but am now between L and XL in many brands. However the longest reach bike I've ridden is 495, but I wonder if longer would be better. I still look at top tube length as you spend a lot of time seated pedaling.

Chris King's New DropSet 6 Headset is Built for Abuse
I've had poor luck with the bearings in the 40. I've been using the Hellbender 70 since they came out and have not had any issues with those. I did once put a 110 series lower bearing in a 40, that once held up.

I ride left foot forward and have US size 13 shoes, my derailleur is fairly well protected.

Review: Reeb Steezl - US Made & Super Capable
Sounds like a great all around bike. Definitely on my short list for my next build. Glad to hear it plays well with a burlier fork too.
