At the iXS Swiss Downhill Cup on 26 / 27th July 2014, the STRAIGHTline was first tested in racing mode. In addition to the Swiss downhill pilots, international world cup riders Brendan Fairclough, Joseph Connell, Bryn Dickerson, Tim Bentley and of course track building advisor Steve Peat used the Swiss Cup to get a first impression of the new World Cup track. Cold and wet weather, temperatures in the lower double-digit range and fog ensured difficult conditions and a good amount of mud. Steve Peat's conclusion on the track is in the video.
In the next episode we'll show you how Rafael "Tschäff" Rhyner, Ralph Näf and Beni Ott define the layout of the new cross-country track. The fifth episode "Layout setting XCO track" will be published on Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

Rode a few parts of the track last autumn, but hard to tell how the entire track would feel as they were building there arses off at the time. But it would (positively) surprise me if it wouldn't have a hint of bikepark feel to it. Although there was a nasty off camber corner at that time. Do not know if it has made it into the final track though.

Who has more DH track experience than Steve?
Probably close to no-one in the world. We're in safe hands - not just for the track and its features, but I'm sure Steve, Claudio and Co' will have thought of everything - media coverage, spectators, medical access, sponsors and pit areas, plus involving all the local people and tourist boards. There's a lot to consider
