I'm a huge Luca Shaw fan and was overjoyed he won a World Cup. He deserved it. I was gutted he didn't qualify in the very next race. But this is World Cup level professional racing. That's why it's called a Qualifier. Riders have to qualify to race in the final. Same thing in Supercross. You make it or you don't. The only thing I can think of is to follow Supercross more closely. Expand the field to 35 riders and have a 5 rider LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier). Popular riders become popular with solid results.

Shimano Launches Cable-Actuated XT Drivetrain

It seems like a big oversight to have strong spring with no damping. I think the issue isn't so much that the springs aren't strong enough, it's that it's undamped. An undamped spring is going to bounce a lot as the it gets cycled and builds momentum without anything to slow it down.

Wolf Tooth Launches Locked-In Bar Ends with Joe Breeden

I don't go nearly fast enough for long enough to have any arm or hand problems but I did get punched in the leg by the end of my bars a few years ago. I still have a round scar on my thigh. I can see how this could make handle bar ends less lethal. Also the hand protection from trees and stuff would be nice.
