Spotted: Prototype Norco Flex-Pivot XC Bike
Why do you hope he's wrong? Genuinely curious. As someone who raced on a hardtail with a 71* HTA, my experience on the new brand of slacker XC bikes has been nothing but magical.

Here's The eMTB Your Kid Has Been Asking For: Rocky Mountain's New Reaper Powerplay
This is getting ridiculous. Putting your elementary school aged kid on a full power e-mountain Bike is an easy way to slow their skills progression and kill their desire to ride a normal bike. E-Bikes already do that for plenty of full grown adults.

First Ride: The 2025 Specialized Stumpjumper Has a New Dual Chamber Air Shock
This looks like a nice all mountain bike. But wish the big S had preserved a lighter trail-oriented model in their lineup. Some will argue that's the Epic Evo, but I would've rather they iterated on the superb, dedicated trail platform that was the previous Stumpy than just over fork an XC race bike. A lightweight 130 /140mm travel trailbike suits more people than this mini-enduro rig, and I can't help but feel like there's a gap in Specialized's lineup right now.

Review: Canyon Lux Trail - Mellow Marathon Machine
These geometry numbers would be standard fare for bikes on EWS courses less than a decade ago -- I'm thinking of the 2016 specialized Enduro, or the over-forked stumpys used until 2018. But I guess now they're "twitchy" and "steep" for an XC bike? I know everything is relative, nor am I saying this take is wrong necessarily. But still!

Ibis Announces Limited Edition Team 31 Exie USA Frames
"Looks pretty much like every other bike" is a generous statement imo. With the exception of the HD6, the ibis lineup is beginning to look pretty dated. The exie is approaching Ellesworth status.

Video: Scott Ransom vs Orbea Rallon - Which Lightweight Enduro Bike Is Best?
Crazy how lightweight is now 34lbs. In the early days of the EWS, I remember it being fairly common to see sub 30lb enduro rigs on the circuit (even ones with DH air shocks, DH casing tires etc.). Know the demands of the sport have changed and these machines are much better performing than the ones used in 2018, but still an interesting trend (and, one that has also trickled down into trail bikes -- tough to find sub 30lb bikes in that category now too, which I'm not sure is a good thing).

Video: Are Racers Not Fit Enough? | Leogang Story of The Race With Ben Cathro
37bpm is nuts... borderline alarming for a non-endurance athlete (I know DH certainly requires endurance, but it's not really an endurance sport in the same vein as XC, ironman triathlons, marathons, etc. if you catch my drift).
