@rpdale: Agree - I got hit by a distracted driver in 1994 that was doing 80 k/h (~ 50 m/h) - direct hit from behind and I was in a bicycle lane. I'm still feeling the affects. The law in the Province I lived in at the time doesn't allow for suing the prick unless you are in a wheelchair for life or dead. If I happened to be walking on the side of the road or simply parked in a car this jerk still would have hit me - distracted drivers can destroy peoples lives.. Fortunately I eventually got back on the bike - both MTB and road. I hope Derek recovers and they get the driver who did this.

Kona Jake the Snake - Size 56 cm
$600 CADKona Jake the Snake - everything but the handlebars and stem have been replaced on this bike since original and with upgraded parts. Shimano Ultegra crankset and hubs (rear hub 11 speed compatible), SRAM Rival 10 speed drivetrain with APEX brifters) and Fi'zi:k Arione Saddle. Bike rides very well - no issues, wheels true etc., there are a few scuffs and paint chips from normal use. Was used mainly as a commuter bike. Comes with recent Continental Gatorskin 28 tires and a spare set of CX tires (wheels are not tubeless). Also comes with water bottle cages. Pedals are not included.

How to Choose the Right Size Mountain Bike in 2023
If you are in between sizes try to find a LBS that will let you take each size bike for a ride - I had to leave my wallet with them but the LBS let me do a 15 min+ spin on each. I would have swore that on paper the medium would be best fit but I went with the large and it worked out great.

Park PCS-1 Bike Stand
$75 CADPark PCS-1 bike stand. Works well. Spring clamp not for clamping carbon fiber frames but seat posts on CF bikes okay.

Pauline Ferrand Prévot Takes Fourth Rainbow Jersey in 2022
She has won the road, cross, xc-mtb, xc-mtb marathon and now gravel world championships. If a male rider accomplished all this, I'm thinking he would be financially set for life - what makes me think her compensation is lower? My guess is that even some women roadies might be better compensated than PFP (but that is only a guess).
