4 RockShox SID Forks from the Past
Had a 2000 SID 80mm on my Fisher Kaitai. So much better than a Judy. Somehow it worked fine under my 220 pounds, including Downieville and Northstar. I had an aggressive hardtail, forgoing those 560mm flat bars for huge 680mm 20mm risers.

Throwback Thursday: Vintage John Tomac Footage From the Early 90s
Bikes have come a long ways. In 1993, I was riding a Trek 830 rigid. 1999, a Gary Fisher Kaitai. That Kaitai with a SID fork and v brakes got me through my first ride at Downieville. A few years later I rode Northstar for the first time, but on a Titus Riddler hardtail with a Fox fork and Avid mechanicals. On that bike I was able to ride upper Karpial. I loved those bikes, but would never go back to them. I would love to go back to my ache free, unbroken mid 20s body.

YT Releases 24" & 26" Mini Jeffsys for Kids
Not to mention, Manitou forks and shocks are as good as anything out there, easy to service, just underrated.

Velocirax Releases No Lift Vertical Bike Racks
Nice. Copy a first generation Recon rack, add a useless gimmick, make it offshore, and try and profit off of someone else’s hard work. I will (and have) gladly pay the slightly higher price for a recon with its far better pivot, baskets and the warm fuzzy part that it is made in Washington by a guy that loves bikes and takes care of his customers. Interesting that there is no address or telephone number to be found on Velocirax website. I guess you have tohope they reply to your email if there is a problem.

Mike Sinyard Advocates for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies Following Decriminalisation in Santa Cruz
Legalization and taxing doesn’t fix everything. In California they have so heavily regulated and taxed those growers complying with state law that they are going out of business. They can’t compete with those who don’t and can profitably grow and sell at half the price. .

Mike Sinyard Advocates for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies Following Decriminalisation in Santa Cruz
@WAKIdesigns: From my vast knowledge of MDMA (obtained by watching Drugs, Inc. and confirmed by the link from Newsweek below) about half of what is sold as MDMA is in fact not. I don’t know the answers to our drug policies in the US, but it is clear our past and current policies have been dismal failures.

Motion Instruments Announces 6 Data Analysis Systems
Yep. I would gladly pay $100-150 to have someone strap it to my bike, get the data and use it to get a tuning service to optimize my setup. Imagine what Push or Vorsprung could do in customizing with the actual user data.

The People of the Invite-Only TDS Enduro
Except it isn’t. Show up for a work day and you will be invited to watch the race and stay. Nothing could be more egalitarian. Extremely nice people that are very welcoming, even after they see I am a mid 40s, uncool dad.

OneUp Announces Carbon Bars, EDC Ready Stem & Lock-On Grips
@Grmasterd: even for those of us north of 200 pounds most 31.8 bars work better. Most 35mm bars are just too stiff and transmit too much shock. Size isn’t everything. I had a set of answer protaper 780mm carbon bars in 31.8 that were so stiff they were unridable. I even gave them to a few people without telling them and had them give them back complaining they killed their arms. The Raceface Sixc 785 carbon in 31.8 has been my goto as a comfortable bar.
