Video: Are 29/27.5" Mullet Bikes Faster Than 29ers?
@mdackert: yeah, cause they're all single compound wire bead tires produced without weight as a consideration. The equivalent would be $25 heavy wire bead MTB tires. Of course a lightweight, folding bead triple compound tire is expensive.

Video: Are 29/27.5" Mullet Bikes Faster Than 29ers?
The rear tires on dirt bikes are also typically twice as wide or more. Does that mean running a 2.5 on the front and a fat bike tire on the rear is a good idea too?

Santa Cruz Hightower LT XX1 / Reserve

$4299 USD
Selling my large 2019 Hightower LT. The bike is a top of the line build, XX1 drivetrain (Cassette is GX Eagle now, only around 150 miles on it), and the Reserve carbon wheels. Built the frame up in October. -150mm Fox Factory 36, Fit 4. Fork has fresh seals and oil as of 200 miles ago -Bike will be sold with a Fox DPX2 Factory shock, this shock only has 4 rides on it. -As said, Santa Cruz Reserve 30 wheels. DT Swiss 350 hubs. The rear hub has the 54t driver upgrade -XX1 derailleur, shifter and cranks. GX Eagle cassette. Chain, cassette, chainring replaced around 150 miles ago. -Fox Factory 150mm Transfer post -Shimano Saint brakes, fresh bleed. 203mm front rotor, 180mm rear -Santa Cruz carbon bars, Raceface Turbine R stem I work at a bike shop and have maintained the bike well throughout its life. Drivetrain is basically brand new. Brakes bled once every 3 months, pads always kept fresh. Wheels are dead true. Asking $4299, but I will entertain reasonable offers. Once again I'm selling the bike with a like-new DPX2 shock, not the Push 11-6 in the photos. I'll ship within North America at buyer's expense. Cash/PayPal only. DM me with any questions you may have. Best, Chris

Video: Passionately Advocating for Mountain Bike Access in Marin County, California
It's mostly politics. Marin County has significantly more undeveloped open space than Bellingham does, and is less densely populated as well. Guess which place has more trails? It's really more of a function of NIMBYs with vast amounts of wealth with which to advocate for their beliefs in the legal system. The fact that mountain biking originated in Marin isn't great for land access either. Many of the policies that are still in place originated as knee-jerk reactions to a sport that was at the time barely recognized as a sport at all
