@clarky78: it might be that The shock and the fork are not sufficiently for that particular bike or, some other feature such as fitment for a particular frame, makes a brand unusable.
I have a specialized stump jumper with a fox rear shock and it’s a total pain in the ass to add air to that rear shock because of the frame shape. The shock works OK but I could see better thought being put into that configuration
