Oct 23, 2025Geometron Nicolai G1 XL
$2200 GBPHas probably done less than 1000km. Fantastic bike and as soon as my house is built I'll be buying another.
EXT fork & shock.
Bikeyoke dropper, huge travel and features air bleed so it literally doesn't ever fail.
DT Swiss HX 1501 wheels featuring 240 straight pull hubs.
Magura MT Pro brakes with Loic Bruni levers.
Magura 220mm rotors F&R.
Renthal carbon fatbar at 780mm, 40mm rise.
XX1 rear mech and shifter.
Wolftooth dropper trigger.
Hope headset.
Race Face stem 40mm.
Ergon saddle.
OneUp alloy flat pedals.
XT crank.
Garbaruk 52t cassette.
Maxxis Assegai 2.50 front, plenty of tread. Minion DHF rear DH casing, has life in it.
Comes with spare Mutators to adapt to 27.5". It is fantastic in either configuration, the Mutators take 5min to change and keep geo the same.
Comes with YT water bottle and cage (only one that fits this bike), chanstay protector, literature for fork & shock.
The most capable climbing and descending bike I've owned and I've owned plenty of high end boutique brands.
Bike is in Perth, WA but happy to assist in shipping wherever as long as you take care of that side of things.
I've travelled with bikes for years so I'm more than happy to pack properly in a strong box etc.
Happy to supply detailed images and video of all aspects of the bike.

Opinion: Mixed-Wheel Bikes Are Like A Swiss Army Knife
@leon-forfar: I'm 6'3" and ride a L Geometron G1 in both configurations. It is awesome in both guises and will climb anything in either wheel size, the limiting factor being me. It rocks downhill in either wheel size at the rear and i prefer it in mullet for climbing.
I have to say that one of the many reasons I have limited the amount of reviews I read from 'industry experts' is that not only are they just giving their subjective opinions (inevitably biased), I don't fully trust anyone that writes words for money. Hung up more on 27.5 is horeshit. I don't feel hung up on anything on the G1.

Video: Chris Akrigg Signs For Whyte Bikes
@davechopoptions: shared bad suspension designs? You must never have ridden a Whyte back in the day, the Whyte E5 had fantastic suspension. Wiped the floor with all other brands I tried.

Please stop now. Nobody (roughly 3000 people) will buy it. You'll go broke and be saddled with bankruptcy and losing your house. All because off a great linkage that looked shit. Please stop.
