Industry Digest: MIPS Settles $3.2M Infringement Case, Eurobike Announces Future Changes & More
@st-alfie: I’m sure you have a grasp of basic physical truths.
Things with more momentum are more dangerous than those with less, you can get that by either increasing mass or velocity. Being larger means that they can hit more things.
It’s not that hard. Yes competency is all well and good but it doesn’t change the inherent danger. If you’re walking about a city minding your own business, you have to trust that operators are acting competently and responsibly… trust being the key word.

Alyssa Secreto Hit By Car During Tour Divide, Sustains Severe Injuries
@geerumm: I’m pretty sure car-pedestrian collision survivability is strongly correlated with vehicle size, the front cross section is particularly important. You might want to double check that.
Indeed the oversize “cars” from the USA are a significant road safety issue for many reasons, not just pedestrian collisions.

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Buy A 32" Wheel Bike?
@werewolflotion: it’s funny that these basic facts are lost on the masses!
UCI HEAVILY regulates road bikes because they actually care about road/cx, whereas couldn’t care less about XC and MTB.
It’s also completely dumb that there is a question in the poll regarding a technical advantage. Either it is a fact or not, there is no opinion.
Personally I don’t really care about XC, but the public discourse regarding 32 has been quite dumb. Let’s hope the discussions behind the scenes has been more informed… but I doubt it.
