Jul 31, 2026Pivot Mach 6 XL - Frame+Shock
$429 USDSo, you want to build a sub-30lbs trail/enduro bike, huh? For that, you need to go back in time. Back to when frames were light, playful and tried to do it all. Before I parted it out, this bike weighed in at 28lbs in size XL. Oh, the other thing--you wanted your Boost 148 wheels to fit on a Pivot. Well, the impossible is still possible:
2016 Pivot Mach 6 - XL - Shock Included
Condition: Used - Excellent - Low Miles
Specs:
-Size XL
-27.5/650b front and back
-155mm rear travel
-148 boost rear axle spacing
Additional Information:
-Original owner
-Low miles (approximately 2 seasons of riding total) - never ridden in wet
-Carbon fiber has no cracks, paint in excellent condition
-Includes installed upper and lower headset bearings, bottom bracket bearings and pivot bearings all with plenty of life left in them
-Includes backup derailleur hanger
-Includes working Fox Float X shock - shock is fully functional and holds air, however basic service at a bike shop is recommended for top performance. It has been serviced multiple times over the years
This super clean frame is ready to be built up and ridden. Even as a 2016, Pivot included plenty of modern conveniences including internal cable routing with cable clamps, frame protection in critical areas, integrated ISCG mount and plenty of dropper insertion depth, all from the coveted pre-Superboost era. DW-link so you know it's a super efficient climber and has little to no pedal kickback.

Kavenz Launches Lugged Carbon VHP X Frame
There are so many other questionable design choices on today’s bikes that generate creaking…modular bolted dropouts definitely isn’t one of them. At least on this frame
Most bike companies fail because they overreach in various ways while being highly leveraged. If anything, a lack of modularity is one mistake smaller brands make.

Throwback Thursday: 16 Race Bikes from the 2016 EWS Opener in Chile
Anyone who lived through this era will recall there was just as much if not more marketing hype to justify every bike design choice, a significant portion of which still drew from the road world
