Opinion: The Ideal eMTB Should Have All of These Features

@Patrick9-32: if you ever worked as an engineer for a consumer company i assure you people usually do not design things to be MORE difficult and expensive to manufacture. Myself and others think the bike is already expensive enough. One solder joint is cheaper and usually more reliable than multiple plugs and joints. Perhaps some things could and should be repairable but it's still inherently a complex device.
