What the hell is a Chuckanut?..

April 2017. Chuckanut Mountains, WA. Filmed, Edited & Music by Bryn Atkinson

Since the video doesn't actually explain it, I'll go ahead and clear this up: Chuckanut is a native word, taken from a Lummi placename borrowed from the Nooksack language, meaning "long beach far from a narrow entrance" or beach on a bay with a small entrance.” The Nooksack word chúkwenet means “beach or tide goes way out,” and some suggest that it refers to Chuckanut Creek, where it empties into Chuckanut Bay.

Poor Jill...awesome that she's filming, if it is indeed her. I've been romping the trails I know around home in the hopes that someday I'll be able to rail as hard and flow as well as this. Over and over for me...slowly getting there. His bike placement is so freakin good. Mad skills and inspiration.

actually i think he films all these by himself, right @Bryn-Atkinson?

Hey, Bryn, I think the damper rod in your fork might have some air in it from all the whooping it's done in your videos. If it's a Fit4 model, I'd get it checked out.

At first I thought the video was sped up...then I remembered who I was watching.

i go that fast in my car.

That's how fast it feels like I'm riding, but somehow when I take video of myself it looks 1/4 that speed.

Must be filming in slow mo... yeah, that's it.

As always, showing how the rest of Bham should be riding our trails! (..or, how we all think we ride). Amazing vid!!
