Field Test: 2023 Scott Genius ST - Cape Not Included
Is the geometry change in climb mode not really helping when things get steep? I liked this improved body position when I rode the previous model.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 153 - Headset Cable Routing is... Good?
@Kaz: I am confused. A cable mess like on the Scotts is terrible, a clean cockpit with AXS is terrible, a clean routing through the headset is terrible, ...
I honestly just ride my bike and do not care too much. I destroyed many lower headset bearing but rarely an upper one. And if it happens after some years it is probably not a bad idea to give my brakes a bleed, too. I dislike the internal routing with guides but without clamps at the ports much more. My previous Santa Cruz was rattling constantly due to this. I think many companies like Canyon, Orbea, Mondraker, etc. do an ok job with the headset routing by just going through the headset top cap, allowing for normal spacers and stems. However, the focus stem would be a real dealbraker for my. That seems like the worst of both worlds with extra complication for a terrible look.

Maxxis Updates Forekaster Tire for Downcountry - Eurobike 2022
@mikekazimer: Thanks for the advice. If the Dissector is really heavier their webpage is very wrong or they have huge inconsistencies and just measured the heaviest Forekaster and the lightest Dissector ever.

Maxxis Updates Forekaster Tire for Downcountry - Eurobike 2022
I like their tires but Maxxis has the most confusing range of at least a hundred MTB tires compared to all tire companies. At least they upgraded the Forekaster instead of adding another tread without removing any other. Is the Dissector not the fast rolling trail tire? The Dissector looks more aggressive to me but now it is lighter? I simply have no clue, which of their tire is the best for which conditions

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 131 - PB Editor Seb Stott on Geometry, Lock-Outs, Fickle Brakes, & Physics in Bike Reviews
"In Theory There Is No Difference Between Theory and Practice, While In Practice There Is." All these tiny 1% gains by lockouts, lighter bikes, ... may sound like nothing but I can clearly feel each of them in my legs and they add up. But even if I like lighter bikes I very much appreciate Seb's perspectives, thoughts and in depth approach. Looking forward to your next articles.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 124 - Bike Parks or E-Bikes?
It is completely strange around here. I see most e-bikes in the bike park using the chair lift or cable car. Why would you do that? Maybe the shops only rent e-bikes these days???
Otherwise I am completely with you. Had a great day in the Port du Soleil bike park once. At the end of the day just doing what I thought I love, I did not feel satisfied. My friends looked at me as if I would be an alien when I told them that I do another 1000m climbing to ride the last trail once more after the cable car had already closed.
