First Look: Hope EVO V6Ti Brakes - Six Pistons Are Back
I had the same experience. Felt pretty miffed with my last set of E4s - having drank the cool aid. I gave the Tech4 V4s a shot after a very long time debating it, and it has been undoubtably been the best brakes I've used.

First Ride: The 2026 Santa Cruz Tallboy Has Been Fully Reinvented, But Remains a Joy
@clarky999: I doubt that's the only reason. I think it's mostly a cost cutting exercise as the VPP rear triangle requires bigger and more expensive molds to produce. The VPP front tiangle with shock tunnel most likely further complicates the manufacturing process.

First Ride: Specialized Epic 9 - Unapologetically Race-Focused
@just6979: It can't be that difficult to have one central battery with conduit running trought the frame with terminals with short leads at the various points electronic controls are needed. But then again, this is the bike industry, and the only change is incremental and nothing is ever bigger picture.

Review: Hope Tech 4 V4 Brakes - Strong and Sensitive
Yeah, ran Tech3 E4s on previous bike and was so underwhelmed by lack of power and fading - made me hesitant to get the tech4 V4s...well, they're the best brakes I've had. Now I'm just waiting for my Code Rs to shit the bed on my other bike to upgrade to GR4s.

@DavidK4: Just checked online, Trickstuff set is EUR 1300 / USD 1400. Not even with trump taxes is it that much per brake.
