SRAM's Updated Ochain is More Durable and Less Expensive
You can achieve the same sloppy crank feel by just switching back to a square taper BB, or, for the really retro slop try cotter pin cranks...
The amount of slop is set by adjusting the height of the huck-to-flat that you do just after fitting.
Loctite your chainring bolts with them partly loose for the full drivetrain float effect.

VisionVelo's Carbon Fiber Mudguard Costs More Than a Premium Tire
@watt95: chunky structural carbon parts break differently than thin brittle carbon mudguards. Doesn't take much to get your leg jammed into a front or rear mudguard. If you're crashing hard enough to snap frame, bars etc then you likely also have other problems to worry about too!
There's a reason you never see carbon bodywork on a proper mx bike

Mmm, sharp, stabby carbon & epoxy splinters. Exactly what I want to get tangled up with in a crash. I'll take the enormous weight penalty of bendy soft plastic thanks!

Oct 7, 2025Orange RX9 Gravel/Cyclocross Bike XL frame VGC
$600 GBPOrange RX9 - complete bike
It's a version 2 example of the RX9, these have minor tweaks over the version 1, plus a carbon fork which is much better than the alu original version.
Size XL
Mechanical Avid disc brakes - simple, effective and reliable
Easton bars and seat post
Hope stem
Orange branded SDG saddle
Schwalbe Rapid Rob tyres with puncture resisting Michelin tubes
Overall very good condition, everything working well with plenty of life left in the mechanicals, no dings, just a couple of paint chips on the frame which I've tried to show in the pics. I've fitted automotive grade clear protection tape (Xpel) to all the likely wear points. Some paint has been worn off up inside the fork legs (up around the sides of the tyre) but this is only cosmetic plus hard to see anyway.
This is a really flexible use bike and a great ride. CX, gravel, touring, commuting, winter training, it can do it all. There are even rack mount points at the rear.
The photos complete the description, please ask if anything more is required.
- please ignore the additional bracket fitted on the LH side of the bottom bracket, this is an adapter that enabled easy mounting on a car rack and will be removed before sale - (my daughter's little silver unicorn stickers can also be removed, or left on, as required...!)

How do you buy in-frame storage? If your bike doesn't have it designed in are you paying someone to get busy with a dremel?
