@OU812: To be compliant with UK/EU regulations it cannot be done. That's not to say some brands won't offer it - but it won't be certified to the relevant consumer safety standards - which is a legal requirement. Fundamentally electric bicycles cannot pass these tests unless they are fully assembled.

Video: Matthew Fairbrother in 'MTB vs Ultra-Runner - The Tour du Mont Blanc'

Not taking anything away from anyone's elses achievements. This video is a bit of fun and documenting a challenge I set Matt! When the video was filmed Killian had the fastest time. The UTMB on a MTB record is always a tricky one as the "rules" and "route" are not defined. This wasn't an attempt at a FKT, just a take on the old "is a mountain biker faster than a runner question".
