I like the idea of having all the mass central on the bike and no derailleur to get caught up, but there's too much drag in the system. I ride my bike uphill (sometimes).

@stiingya: not if your post is already slammed into the frame.... It's going to raise the saddle height if you are already running your post as low as possible.
It might also mean you need a shorter dropper post...

I manage to grip the bars loosely despite not having any saucers on the end of my bars.
I can count the number of times I've lost my grip on the bars and these contraptions would have helped me on zero fingers
