Diamondback DB8

$1475 USD
I am selling 2015 Diamondback DB8 downhill bike. I used it 2 seasons in Idaho at a Silver Mountain Bike Park. Bought from a guy in Portland who rode it 2 weeks... then sold it to me. I am a veteran rider. This was not launched 100' or rode thru giant boulder fields. This was on the Easy to Moderate runs. Boxxer front shock was rebuilt midway thru 2016. We moved back to AZ in 2017 so it has just sat in the garage since then. This bike is like driving a Cadillac. Soaks it all up. Absolutely loved it just don't have the need for it anymore. This is the long version... I am 6'-2" 195lbs. Fits just like an in between LARGE/XL. The only thing wrong with it is the ZEE rear derailleur has that little gold switch.... the end of the lever broke off. You can still engaged and disengage it. I upgraded the brakes to the killer SRAM XO (silver) quad pistons in 2015. $1475obo INCLUDES SHIPPING TO LOWER 48 520-827-0644 Parts: Travel 200mm Rear Shock Fox Van RC, 9.5"x3.00, 400lb spring/short, 450lb spring/long Fork RockShox Boxxer RC 27.5" 200mm travel Headset FSA - 57-1 Cassette Shimano Tiagra, 12-28 Crankarms Shimano Zee Chainguide FSA Gravity chainguide Bottom Bracket Shimano Pedals DB4L Platform CNC, w/replaceable pins, sealed bearings Chain Shimano HG54 10-speed Rear Derailleur Shimano Zee Front Derailleur NA Shifter Pods Shimano Zee Handlebar Diamondback Probar, 785mm, 15mm rise Stem Truvativ Grips DB4L "Lock on" Kraton Brakes SRAM XO1 silver Wheelset Diamondback OEM spec Hubs Novatech Spokes Stainless steel, 14-gauge Rim Sun Ringle Inferno Tires Kenda Honey Badger, 27.5" x 2.4" Seat Diamondback Race, M-series Seatpost Diamondback, 31.6mm

Open: 2016 Epic Rides Off-Road Series Registration
Enduro races are just 1/2 half of these races. Dig the stroll up the hill, but really pushing yourself up the hill is a much bigger accomplishment.

Opinion: 5 New Year's Resolutions for Mountain Bikers
I feel the pain somismtb.... I rode down there a bunch of times when I was surfing in that region. Even though you are legally riding in those areas you get that evil "stink-eye" from a lot of hikers. I lived in Phoenix for years...the parks departments and rangers(people who are not environmentally qualified) shut down a lot of our hand-cut mountain bike trails and even existing 40year old motorcycle trails on forest land. We did have a house representative that helped start an OHV program to help keep and maintain these epic trails open in several of the central AZ counties. That is still going strong and they have even opened up brand new trails like in Flagstaff and other northern areas. There were several mountain bike groups that got involved down in the Phoenix area that did trail maintenance and started going to these park trail meetings. The only thing I can see is to get involved....show these LEFT-WINGED-SELF RIGHTEOUS-WANT TO BE A MOVIE STAR that there can be some harmony between mountain bikes, horses, hikers, and the ever popular environment. It would suck having to deal with those FREAKS down there. Otherwise...move up here to Northwest US where I live now and experience almost endless single track and somewhat free run of the land.

Race Recap: Silveroxx 2014
Great place to ride! Willie, Drew, and the rest of the people at the resort do such a great job there! From continuously building new trails down to the friendly smiles, it is a great place to go. It needs to be on the top 10 list! I hope to race a couple of those next year. P.S. Sean Murphy Rules!

Video: Shaun Palmer Coming Home
Was around him a couple of times. He is cocky/miserable/prick. He doesn't represent California all to well. Wow...had a great life...making money. Good rider, but sad he was a short...glass is half empty guy.

Landscapes: Welcome to Phoenix, Arizona
It's great to see South Mountain get some national recognition! Me and my buddies started cutting our teeth on those trails on rigid bikes back a little over twenty years ago. We had the best of times out there....spending hours at a time trying to make the unbelievable uphill rock outcropping climbs. Technical rider's dream. Miss the place.

Video: Mining Silver
I local the hill. They have done a kick but job this year and even in the past. Lots of awesome new trails w/ lots of fun hits and berms. With having the longest gondola and maybe the longest runs (6.5miles long!!) in the US, this is truly a kick-in-the-pants place. They have a very nice and great staff there. Silver Mountain should get some coverage in the Mags and Intraweb. Nice having this in our backyard. Keep up on the good grooming guys. PS Sean Murphy rules!

First Ride: Diamondback Mission 27.5
I grew up around in the 80s bmx era always wishing to get a Diamondback, Hutch, Haro (Never could afford one until a buddy sold me his used old DB Apex). Sad how these Southern California bike companies "Sold Out" to the foreign companies. These companies got sucked into the bike manufacturing-wasteland of China/Taiwan/Thailand. Even though I had a little grass-roots sponsorship from DB, it was sad to see these crappy-ass, reversed engineered piles of steel tubing with their name on it getting pushed at Walmart .I do understand the marketing strategy...just don't agree with the low end products. It is nice to see they are back producing good looking and well thought-out bikes again. Makes me want to get one.
