@Dario-DiGiulio: I had no idea Maxxis an aspen with deeper tread... Interesting, but is it worth a try? I just picked up my first XC bike (in addition to DH and enduro rigs) and I am having a helluva time finding tires that are light enough to keep this bike feeling racy but durable enough to not rip knobs off (as I have on the damn Wicked Wills) or flat from sharp rocks (even at ~28psi). Here's where you come in - as a guy that has probably ridden hundreds of little bike tires, can you suggest a few that you liked? Typical NorCal dust over hard-pack with rocks all over the place. I'm quite partial to the Tacky Chan on my other bikes because they roll reasonably quick, brake well, and have a mean bite if you lean them over far enough, but I have accepted that the XC bike is not to be ridden like the enduro or DH and I am willing to sacrifice some cornering speed for less rolling resistance. If you will, Dario, tell me what to spend my money on!

I can't imagine running Maxxis Aspen tires F+R out there! It's loose as hell out here right now and the rocks certainly haven't gotten any less sharp! Heckuva gamble!

@SeanDRC: I would much rather support an IBD and I am a big fan of Victory! At this point, there's an element of convenience as well. Living in EDH, I have to drive a minimum of 30 minutes to get to the nearest IBD. Working full time and having two kids forces me to factor the commute time into my decision. I worked in shops for more than a decade... it pains me to buy these things online, but the inconvenience and high prices have driven me to buy online.

I'd like to echo this↑ I am picky about some things (tires and brakes, primarily). Outside of that, I will usually seek out the best deals and I am flexible on brand and often tier. I tried to support my IBD, but everything is owned by PON, Specialized, Trek, etc... within a 50mi radius and I ain't about that. Bring on the online deals!

I agree Rogatkin got robbed. But does anyone know what the hell Rhapsody is? Is it a title sponsor or just what Crankworx wants to call it...

I've often considered this question myself. The only thing I could think of was that it was preventative; suspension's been hammered leading up to this so let's replace anything that has the potential to fail... I would think that if you wanted consistency in damping you would want to continue running all of the same parts since any new parts will be geometrically different than the previous parts (manufacturing tolerances). That is, unless they are measuring everything prior to installation to make sure all is nominal. Then there's oil... What's the tolerance for oil viscosity (as well as other relevant properties) from batch to batch. Maybe someone in the comments will know the answer to this question!
