karaknic

I am a talentless mountain biker, but always trying my best. Been scaring myself senseless in the forests for over 20 years and recently took up racing in the West Australia downhill and enduro scene. I enjoy photography and dabble in video editing - you can see some of my race reports and photography at www.nikolay-k.com

Andi Schuster Exploring Macedonia - Video
Great stuff! I'm glad they found Macedonians to be friendly and welcoming because that's simply how it is! The nice thing about countries around there is that no one will go out of their way to 'ban' you from doing something interesting and fun. Ironically there's much more freedom than places like the States, UK or Australia.

NZ DH National Champs 2017 - Course Preview
Not a fan of these recent super steady gimbal chesty clips. There's a point where too smooth is just boring, the camera's gotta shake a bit to show how rowdy the course is. This looks like he's cruising down a tarmac road!

Trailforks Tutorial: Adding Builder Details to a Trail
That's all well and good, but with the majority of the best trails out here (Western Australia) the last thing their builders want is their name linked to a trail on a public database. I imagine it's much the same in many other "sensitive" areas.

Topeak Joeblow Booster - Review
Owner of a 10 year old JoeBlow, still going strong. The one gripe I have with these is if you're pumping up 2.3+ tyres the pressures are normally in the low 20s, depending on where you ride, and it's very difficult to accurately gauge those ranges which this pump is seemingly meant for - the gauge is just too small for that. Who on earth needs 160 PSI on a pump designed for big volume low pressure tyres.

Rachel's Winning Run - Video
The last time Warner raced at the BDS he was around 10% off the fastest time of the day. Rachel was 12% off from Bruni in Cairns. Would be pretty close if those figures are anything to go by.

Are You Going Electric? - Pinkbike Poll
That's a bit like asking what do you prefer 26" or 27.5" a couple of years ago. The answer is it don't effing matter, in a few years, if you want top to mid tier equipment from the big manufacturers you WILL be buying electric, like it or not.
