Two Vermont Builders Handed $35,000 Fine for Unauthorized State Forest Trails
Aside from the description of trees removed (lots of small ones, still significant imo), it's hard to tell how impactful the build was on the ecological health of the landscape. That seems to be what matters to most people, so has anyone seen the trail in person? Were the trails graded in a way that worked with the landscape? Was the landscape otherwise altered significantly in a negative way? Was this a bad place for an mtb trail, like rare habitat, subject to flooding, etc?

Sit down friend, and let me tell you about the days before the motors came.
On those rides, sweat poured profusely and legs burned like the sun. The suffering was great and glorious. Descents were fast and playful on those light steeds. Much stoke was felt.
Now? The stoke is a button press away, the lactic acid lacking. The electrified beasts smash through the woods at great speeds. We've truly purified the sport.
Those before times feel like mithology now.
