Burning Question: What's the Safest Full-Face Helmet for Your Riding Style?
@32aintdead: IXS Trigger. Ain't bad at all, been loving it for more 'enduro' trail rides. But it just feels so flimsy and when tightened with the boa it feels like there's so much ROOM around the helmet. Not to mention, it's just kinda full o holes in terms of debris and what not.
I mean my GF got the Kali DH Invader and I kinda felt like even that was burlier and more solid feeling than my helmet. Not sure if the normal Invader is better or worse.
I still wear a half shell on true XC rides, but I feel like my park helmet is pretty basic in the Leatt Gravity 1. So I end up kinda 50/50 between that and the Trigger (non-mips as well)

@bdamschen: aw, another one!? I thought the Smith Mainline was one of the coolest looking helmets, but I've avoided it cuz I've heard reports it just C R E A K S in your ears until they bleed basically

this is the one that's been on my list. I feel like I went a bit too light and fragile on my most recent helmet, so while it's great for trail riding, nearly XC, I find myself reaching for my previous helmet for higher speed tracks. But the Gambit looks like the best balance of all around riding to me. very DH confident but not abysmal to pedal in.

@mikekazimer: nice, i'm gonna have to invest in one for my next Red Bull event then
jokes aside, in the era of the kali football helmet, it is interesting to think if ALL helmets are essentially upgrading, just like all bikes are bulking up, to deal with the modern concept of riding. even for the average joe. i had a 100% "bmx/dh" helmet initially and quite liked it, even if it would be life destroying to pedal in. I def don't feel completely comfortable on some of the harder tracks in my IXS trigger. I know it's still a great helmet. But I feel like the benefit of 'low speed crumple' will be out weighed at higher speeds by potentially crumpling too easily. and i'm pretty slow...

(waiting for some very patient and gracious soul to read the entire thing and point out ANY statement that isn't just standard media trained answers that merely optimistically imply MTB helmets will get better and that there is no direct reason to use a moto helmet while cycling... but also no direct reason not to, seemingly...)

Kona Introduces New Remote 160 & Remote X Full-Power eMTBs
Physically pains me to see Shreddie work his ass off riding these 55+ lbs ebikes and bodging Process 134s and Hei Heis into slope/slalom bikes as Kona continues to ignore the entire segment of the market he occupies and just release bikepacking bikes and drop bar hardtails. Not saying Kona DIDN'T occupy that segment before... But they sure as shii abandoned freeride and fun bikes, arguably their bread and butter for most of their tenure. Meh
