Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay EMTB – First Ride
@leelau: one more thing - I can´t see why this difference should stay in place. People in charge (called politicians among many other nicknames ;-) ) need change that and also open trails to any kind of bike & e-bike. I don´t feel bad about e-bikes or hate them. I make a living of repairing bike/e-bikes so the more the better. I´ve also seen what it does to people who were not cycling/e-biking before. The result speaks for itself and anybody who does not like e-bikes is not forced to buy one.

Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay EMTB – First Ride
@mattwragg: just to clear things up - focused on Austria in general it is forbidden to ride a mountain road/road in the woods at all. the reason are legal restrictions that are there in theory, but nearly nobody cares about it. In case of an accident my insurace does care about it. E-bikes are forbidden on any kind of wood/mountain road at all due to law. They are motor vehicles and are therefore not allowed to use these roads because it is illegal with motor vehicle. So trail access is an issue and this topic is discussed by interest groups behind closed doors. This also is a problem for non e-bike mountain bikers as the number of "illegal" bikers rises. So an e-bike is not an bicycle and therefore your statement is nonsense. Look up the laws that are relevant and you will see. I agree that the 2 meter rule is nothing of relevance in Austria. The whole topic is not that straight forward at all and in discussions like that it is easy to forget - e-bikes are motor vehicles - at least in Austria according to the laws in play.

Serfaus Fiss Ladis: Two Halves – Photo Epic
In my opinion you can´t justifiy that a day ticket is EUR 36.- there are a lot of trails and features - that´s true. I had a lot of time to cycle last year and 4 out of 5 visits the park was in poor conditions. It was great to test some new stuff for my downhill fork, but I would never go there with my girlfriend. Brake-bumps all over the place and deep holes (they would have fit a football). Looks like the money is not spent on that. Regardind the prices in Leogang - EUR 32.- for a 4 hour ticket and EUR 39.- for a day pass is, in my opinion, over priced for what they have. I guss the problem is that both resorts orientate their prices on what they charge in winter. This is not the right way to go and I also question if USD 61/roughly EUR 55.- is okay, but have never been to Whistler yet and can´t really tell what it is like.

@MatthewCarpenter: you would have to pay an extra EUR 10.- for the Frommes Trail (high alpine)
