@mikekazimer: I disagree with the idea there have been "thrashings." Enumerating the distinctions is apparently being misconstrued as criticism...?
FWIW, your reviews are analogous to my experiences. I think Shimano has long set the standard with the Saint, and their lever ergonomics are great across their line. LBS has tried to convert me to TRP based on their experiences, but Dominions have won me over me based on light lever action combined with good power. Thank you for confirming my bias. I would consider trying Mavens based on these reviews.
