Video: At Home & Away With Danny Hart
@Mtmw: That’s the other side of the river mate, steel and chemical works on the south side, nuclear power station and oil refineries on the north. Nice contrast to North Yorkshire Moors national park on the doorstep but it’s home, good to see the our Danny keeping it real though, good to see him mentioning the local scene as well, now if he could stop setting ridiculous KOM’s on my local trails that would be great!

Ard Moors Enduro: Raw Carnage - Video
First race! Talk about a babtism of fire, however saying that I'm a local lad so kind of use to similar mud/gloop, most fun I've had falling off my bike in a long time, especially the bottom half of stage 5. Felt sorry for the marshalls on the Saturday, it wasn't their fault you were running a semi-slick on the rear. Like others have said, it's grim up north and rarely dry, everyone had to ride the same tracks so suck it up, man up and get amongst it! Ps. Thank you to guy who saved my life at the start of stage 2, (was doing the sprint so this was the final stage for me), asked jokingly if he had any spare hope pads, got the reply sintered or organic, absolute legend/life saver. Two days of riding in that mud completey destroyed my brake pads.

Riding Gran Canaria with Blake Samson
Company called Free Motion do great guided rides on GC, would highly recomend the Guayadeque Trail tour they offer, drop you off at the highest point on the island and finish at sea level with only 200m of climbing over 31km, just make sure that you get them to set the brake levers up properly for you before you leave the shop (the guide decided to tell me they were 'euro' style at the start of the trail - had a few over the bars moments that day!). Apart from that it was spot on, great fast dusty trails and a good way to escape the mudfest that is winter in the UK. Similar experience to @oldmanDan, one english guy with 5 Germans and an Austrian guide, took 5 mins explaining to the Germans what was coming up on the next section then all I got was 'ok English, we go downhill, fast.'

Everyone Needs a Trail Dog - Video
My cocker spaniel had a similar issue, can get paw butter from most pet shops over here (the coco butter and honey one works well but she always tries to eat it!) just rub it in last thing before bed and it softens the pads up nicely after a couple of days. Haven't had any issues with cracked pads since.
