Waiting patiently for the Hugo Frixtalon edit

A lbs in Truckee, ca is carrying amflow. So they handle all warranty etc for 2 years. They sell Rocky Mountain , Santa Cruz etc. a buddy of mine works there and said they sold 25 amflows, the old model, in February. I think they saw this coming and seized the opportunity. For the price, and having a LBS to work with, it’s hard to choose something else unless I needed a different style bike. I was doing the math, I can buy a base model and upgrade the suspension and brakes With last year‘s stuff and have A pretty high-end bike for 6K with the new motor. That’s factoring in selling the takeoff suspension. I honestly don’t see how other bike shops in town can compete with that. But there are plenty of very well off people that won’t blink an eye at a 15 K specialized or a 15 K pivot - So I guess the other guys will probably still be fine at least in this tourist town.

Linkglide xt is really durable I’ve been on the same casette / chainring for the past 2000 miles. In good shape, lots of life left. Same shifter. Replaced one derailleur due to fubar from a boulder but that was only $90. Gone through 2 chains. Ride in turbo 90% of the time. I agree with the person who said only thing that matters is motor reliability and warranty. I bought from a lbs and am on my 4th Bosch cx4. 3 went within the first 2 years. The 4th in under 500 miles so they did one outside of warranty under good faith for $200. Woulda been bummed if I had to buy a new motor. From what I have read, avinox are sealed better and get replacement parts / motors out fast. The hardest part with Bosch was waiting sometimes more than a month when it was in the shop waiting for a new motor

Cannibal is an awesome tire - but most definitely a dhr 2 clone with taller knobs all around I actually prefer the cannibal gravity casing over the maxxis dh 3c maxxgripp highroller 3 - more supportive and i can run lower pressure with the cannibal before I ding my rim than i can with the dh highroller 3 on a repeatable track. Highroller 3 takes the cake in loose for sure but the cannibal is probably my favorite all around tire.
